‘Reacher’ renewed for Season 6 on Prime Video

‘Reacher’ renewed for Season 6 on Prime Video

The series will return for more episodes after Season 4 reached 66 million viewers in less than a month.

“Reacher” Season 4 has been a huge hit for Prime Video. The series, which adapts the beloved Jack Reacher novel series by author Lee Child, has reached more than 200 million viewers worldwide since launching in 2022, and its most recent season was a record-setter for the streamer. That’s a big reason why Prime Video has announced an early renewal for “Reacher,” revealing that it has already ordered a sixth season of the series, nearly a year before Season 5 is likely to premiere.

Key Details:

  • Let’s go again: “Reacher” has been renewed for a sixth season on Prime Video.
  • Not waiting: The early renewal follows the ordering of Season 5 in May.
  • Strong numbers: The show’s fourth season reached 66 million viewers in 28 days.

The early renewal of “Reacher” for a sixth season follows the release of its Season 4 finale. This most recent installment was bookended by renewal announcements; the show’s fifth season renewal was announced in May, so the confirmation of a sixth season is a strong confirmation of Amazon’s confidence in the series.

That belief is borne out by viewership statistics for the show’s performance in its fourth season. Releasing in August, “Reacher” Season 4 shot to the top of streaming charts, finishing atop Samba’s Weekly Wrap report four weeks in a row. Per Amazon, the show reached 66 million people in its first 28 days of availability.

That strong performance helped “Reacher” Season 4 rank among the top five most-viewed seasons of any original Prime Video show. Season 4 adapts the 13th novel in the Reacher series, “Gone Tomorrow,” and is available to stream in its entirety on Prime Video now.

“‘Reacher’ hits hard,” Amazon MGM Studios executive Peter Friedlander said. “What Lee Child has built and Nick Santora and his creative teams have brought to life is, simply, incredible. Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher—he has delivered a performance that has captivated audiences around the world. Together with our partners at Paramount Television Studios, we could not be more excited to continue this journey.”

Fans of the Jack Reacher universe can now also stream the first spin-off series set in that world: “Neagley,” which follows a private investigator who frequently collaborates with Reacher, but is ready to strike out on her own. Learn more about “Neagley” here, and watch it on Prime Video once you’ve finished your latest “Reacher” binge.
