Roku launching NWSL Zone as destination for women’s soccer fans
The programming hub will tell fans where to stream the next NWSL game, offer highlight reels and clips, and more.
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is kicking off on Friday, March 14. The season will be streamed on more platforms than ever in 2025, a reflection of its growing popularity among fans. To help build the league’s fan base even further, Roku has announced that it will launch a new content hub called the NWSL Zone, helping fans connect to the game much more easily.
Key Details:
- The NWSL Zone will let fans see where to stream the next live game, show short-form video, and more.
- The zone is the first women’s league-branded hub of its kind on Roku.
- The launch is just the latest investment by Roku in the wider distribution of women’s sports.
The NWSL Zone is available now, ahead of the first NWSL game of the regular season. It will help viewers find where to stream the next NWSL game live, or see a replay of previous matches. It will also allow viewers to watch highlight reels and clips, re-airs, see upcoming schedules, and more.
“We’re excited to partner with Roku and leverage their extensive platform and sports discovery user experience to bring NWSL matches to more fans than ever,” NWSL’s chief marketing and commercial officer Julie Haddon said. “This collaboration is an important step in making it even easier for our growing audience to engage with the league.”
NWSL Zone is the first content zone on Roku associated with a professional women’s league. The Roku Channel Sports experience already offers hubs like the NFL Zone and NBA Zone, helping fans immerse themselves more fully in their favorite sports.
“With the popularity of women’s sports soaring, we’re focusing on amplifying the talent that makes it all happen,” Roku’s head of sports Joe Franzetta said. “Curating a dedicated zone for the NWSL is another step in our mission to champion female athletes, their record-breaking achievements, and their inspiring stories.”
Roku has made other commitments to helping grow women’s sports fandom in recent months. In February, it announced the creation of a weekly talk show “Women’s Sports Now,” and also agreed to a deal with the Pro Volleyball Federation to stream matches from that league for free in January.
