Streamers to keep
Apple TV
One of my favorite titles on Apple TV is returning to the streamer in September: the spy drama series “Slow Horses,” which will feature BAFTA-winner Lenny Rush. The season is based on the sixth and seventh books of the Mick Herron Slough House novel series, called “Joe Country” and “Slough House.” The Slow Horses are on the run as Diana Taverner ensnares them in a high-stakes game of revenge. Season 6 premieres on Sept. 16, with one episode per week to follow on succeeding Wednesdays.

Also coming to Apple TV this month is the meta comedy series “Brothers,” featuring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves. When the pair discover that they might actually be brothers, their lives are turned upside down, with hilarious chaos ensuing. The show debuts on Apple TV on Sept. 23.
The thriller “Last Seen” is also coming to Apple TV on Sept. 9, and new episodes of “Ted Lasso” Season 4 will continue to arrive on the service throughout the month as well. An Apple TV subscription costs $13 per month for the service’s sole, ad-free plan.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Paramount+
What will the twisted, deviant minds responsible for “South Park” come up with this season? There’s just one way to find out. Season 29 of the animated comedy series will debut on Sept. 16 on Comedy Central, with new episodes arriving on Paramount+ the next day. One episode will drop every two weeks, with the season finale airing in November.
Guy Ritchie’s crime drama series “MobLand” will roll out its second season on Paramount+ on Sept. 18. The Harrigan family is on the brink of civil war in the show’s second season, and their enemies are beginning to smell blood in the water. Can their fixer Harry Da Souza keep North London’s largest criminal empire above water?

The month will also see NFL games return to Paramount+ on Sunday afternoons, as well as next-day streams of “Survivor” Season 51. The service costs $9 per month for its ad-supported Essential plan, or $14 per month to upgrade to the ad-free Premium plan.
Paramount Plus
Paramount+ is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 40,000+ TV show episodes from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and more. Get free access with a Walmart+ subscription.
Paramount+ includes “1883,” “Tulsa King,” “Star Trek: Discovery,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and “PAW Patrol.” Subscribers can watch the NFL, college football, The Masters, college basketball, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A, and NWSL. The service also offers the option to watch your live CBS affiliate. The upgraded ad-free package includes premium movies and shows from Showtime.
Netflix
Netflix continues a big month for Guy Ritchie, with Season 2 of “The Gentlemen” arriving on the streamer on Sept. 3. The season will see Eddie and Susie join forces to expand Bobby’s criminal empire overseas — if their ambition doesn’t get the best of them and lead them astray. Making things worse is the fact that Bobby’s decisions are increasingly unsound; will Eddie and Susie take action?

Get into the Spooky Season feel a little early with Netflix’s “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,” which arrives on Netflix on Sept. 17. The fourth season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology series will follow the infamous Lizzie Borden and her maid, Bridget, as they plan a path to freedom from the bonds of their Victorian household.
Stream it all with a subscription to any Netflix plan. The streamer’s Standard with Ads plan costs $9 per month, or viewers can upgrade to the ad-free Standard plan for $20 per month.

Disney+
Things are fairly quiet on the Disney+ this September, outside of the debut of more college football games on the streamer. Viewers will be able to watch the Hulu thriller series “City of Blood” on Disney+ this month, but otherwise, the streamer doesn’t have any big-name releases slated for September.
Disney+
Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
AMC+
Spooky Season also arrives early on AMC+ in September, and if you’re a horror enthusiast, titles like “The Creep Tapes” Season 3 and the debut of “Parasomnia” may keep you subscribed to the streamer this month. Otherwise, however, viewers are likely safe leaving AMC+ behind until October.
AMC+
AMC+ is a premium subscription streaming bundle owned by AMC Networks. It offers curated access to award-winning originals, indie films, and prestige television. Launched in June 2020, the service combines content from AMC with flagship brands such as BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited, delivering a rich library of exclusive programming and early episode access.
