Here are 3 streamers you need to keep in March, and 2 you don’t
Wondering which streamers are absolute essentials this month, and which you can let go of? Keep reading to find out!
The saying goes that spring comes in like a lion, and when it comes to streaming releases, that couldn’t be more true. The month of March is jam-packed with tons of buzzworthy series and movies arriving on streaming services, not to mention boatloads of sports action with the start of the Major League Baseball season and the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.
But, with all of the options available across the streaming landscape, do you really need to be signed up for everything this month? Thanks to the ease of canceling and resubscribing, cycling through streamers is not only easy, it can also be cost-effective, if you are strategic about how you approach your subs. So, our experts have gone through all of the releases coming up this month and have assembled a collection of three streaming services that you should absolutely make sure to have this month, as well as a pair that you can probably live without until April.

What streamers should I keep in March 2025?
Disney+

There’s simply too much intriguing stuff coming to Disney+ this month to leave it out of your streaming diet in March. “Daredevil: Born Again” is reviving the darker tone for the character that originated in the 2015 Netflix series, and is one of the most intriguing Marvel titles in years. Charlie Cox reprised his role as the Man Without Fear and his alter-ego Matt Murdoch in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” but he is back to defending the streets of Hell’s Kitchen in a first-of-its-kind revival series. Also returning from the OG Netflix series is Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk (aka Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (aka Punisher). The first two episodes are out now, so I would hurry up and watch them before anything gets spoiled.

Also arriving on Disney’s flagship streamer this month is one of the most successful films of 2024, “Moana 2.” The animated sequel is set to debut on Disney+ March 12. The first “Moana” film continues to be incredibly popular on Disney+, in fact, Nielsen says that it was the most streamed film of 2024 with over 13 billion minutes viewed last year.
In addition, Disney+ is continuing to release new episodes of Pixar’s first-ever TV series “Win or Lose” in March, so there is something for everyone coming to the platform this month. When you combine that with its deep and expansive library, it’s tough to argue that you don’t need Disney+ this month.

Max

One of the most popular and buzzy shows on television is currently in the middle of airing its third season on Max, so you simply can’t cut Max in March. “The White Lotus” Season 3 will continue to release new episodes through the month of March, and if you are a regular follower of all of the five-star resort’s twists and turns, you know that you cannot wait to binge this show after a full season is released. Not only will you undoubtedly be spoiled by friends and social media, but the anticipation might kill you as well. The third season of the Emmy-winning hit features Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Natasha Rothwell, and more.

But that’s not the only hit-HBO original arriving on Max this month. On Sunday, March 9, “The Righteous Gemstones” will return for its fourth and final season. You won’t want to miss all of the ridiculous antics that the Gemstones get up to before the series winds down its run. Those would be big enough draws on their own, but sports fans should also keep in mind that when the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament starts, they will be able to watch any March Madness games airing on TNT, TBS, or truTV with Max. Ad-supported Max customers will even be able to watch these games on the streamer until March 30, but after that, they will have to be signed up for an ad-free plan to get access to the Bleacher Report Sports Add-On.
Peacock

Perhaps it is residual bias from Peacock’s early, underwhelming days, but when I first began looking at the service’s March offerings for this list, it was in the name of adding it to my selection of streaming services to cancel. However, the NBCUniversal platform’s release calendar changed my mind in a big way. One of the big new titles coming to Peacock this month is the Amanda Seyfried-led crime limited series “Long Bright River.” Based on the novel by Liz Moore, Seyfried plays a police officer investigating a series of murders in a tough Philadelphia neighborhood while also searching for her missing younger sister. Seyfried is one of the most consistently excellent performers working, and having her in a gritty crime drama is more than reason enough to keep Peacock in the rotation this month.
Take a look at the trailer for “Long Bright River”:
While the anticipation is high for “Long Bright River,” there is likely no title coming to streaming this month with more anticipation that “Wicked.” Fans of the record-breaking Broadway musical have been waiting to stream it at home since 2003, and now that it is officially an Oscar-winning film, they won’t have to wait much longer. “Wicked” will fly onto the platform on Friday, March 21, giving fans of the movie and the musical eight months to binge the film before “Wicked: For Good” is released in November.
If singing and dancing witches isn’t your thing, then maybe conniving, back-stabbing Montana ranchers are. For the first time ever, you will be able to stream the entirety of Taylor Sheridan’s groundbreaking — and world-building — series “Yellowstone.” Season 5, Part 2 will finally arrive on the streamer on March 16, joining the rest of the four and a half seasons of episodes.
What streamers can I cancel in March 2025?
AMC+
This streamer’s inclusion on the list is not intended as a slight against “Dark Winds,” which debuts its third season on the service on March 9. It’s an incredibly well-done show, but the AMC+ release schedule in March outside of “Dark Winds” is pretty hit-and-miss. None of the streamer’s best-known titles like “Interview with the Vampire” or “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” have new episodes coming out during the month, so we think it’s safe to spend the $7+ per month you lay out for an AMC+ subscription on something else this month.
Hulu
“Good American Family” is a show that’s likely to garner some intrigue on Hulu when it comes out on March 19, and the Oscars’ Best Picture winner “Anora” also arrives on Hulu in March, but other than that, there’s not a ton to get excited about with the streamer this month. The hits return to Hulu in April when The Handmaid's Tale” Season 6 comes out, but until then, you’re probably safe to let your Hulu subscription lapse for a few weeks.
