‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 plot details emerge at last
According to one insider report, the show’s new episodes will focus on an AFC Richmond women’s club.
We’re getting closer and closer to the return of “Ted Lasso.” All signs point to the beloved Apple TV+ series coming back for a fourth season, and now a new report from an Apple insider is giving fans a preview of the plot for the first time. On Wednesday, Sigmund Judge of Mac Stories posted on social media that Season 4 of “Ted Lasso” would follow the creation of an AFC Richmond women’s team.
Key Details:
- The Streamable speculated in August 2024 that “Ted Lasso” Season 4 could follow the formation of an AFC Richmond women’s club.
- Judge says Season 4 of the show is due to film in May and June.
- Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are all confirmed to be returning for the new season.
The Streamable posited in August 2024 that Season 4 of the show could focus on the creation of an AFC Richmond women’s club, an event that was teased in the show’s Season 3 finale when Keeley (played by Juno Temple) slid such a proposal across Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) desk. Now, that plotline is seemingly confirmed by Judge’s report.
EXCLUSIVE: London filming for #TedLasso S4 is now set to begin in May/June with focus shifting at AFC Richmond to the formation of its women’s team.

Judge also says that filming for the show will start in May or June. Those dates align with information gleaned from “Ted Lasso” star Nick Mohammed, who portrayed Nate Shelley on the series. In late January, Mohammed posted on his social media that he had to reschedule certain dates for his stage show “Mr. Swallow: Show Pony,” and alluded to filming responsibilities for “Ted Lasso” Season 4 as the reason. The dates in question were originally scheduled for May and June.
Judge has been responsible for scoops regarding “Ted Lasso” Season 4 in the past. In October 2024, he revealed that pre-production for the show would begin in January, and if the show is indeed moving to principal photography this spring, it would indicate that his timeline in that reporting was probably correct as well.
We don’t know for sure whether all “Ted Lasso” regulars are coming back for Season 4, but we do know that Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) have all had their contract options picked up for the season. Mohammed’s involvement is all but confirmed as well, and I’d hazard a guess that Juno Temple is also returning.
So, continue to believe “Ted Lasso” fans! It continues to appear that new episodes of the show will be available on Apple TV+ sometime in the next 18 months or so.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
