‘The Bad Guys 2’ is skulking into theaters. When will it stream?
The DreamWorks Animation movie will be available in theaters on Aug. 1, and we’ll give our best guess at when it’ll be available to stream.
What kind of trouble will The Bad Guys get into this time? “The Bad Guys 2” hits theaters in the United States on Friday, Aug. 1, to the delight of school-aged kids who aren’t ready to say goodbye to summer just yet. We’ll tell you a little more about the movie and let you know when we think you’ll be able to stream it at home here!
Key Details:
- Bad guys, good reviews: “The Bad Guys 2” has a critical score of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.
- Peacock dreams: As a DreamWorks title, “The Bad Guys 2” will stream on Peacock first.
- Quick turnaround?: Our best guess is that “The Bad Guys 2” will take a little longer than some Universal movies to hit Peacock.
“The Bad Guys 2” sees our formerly felonious friends trying to turn over a new leaf. They’re trying to be Good Guys, but the world isn’t so quick to trust or accept their new personalities. Just when it seems they’re about to leave their past behind forever, they’re pulled out of retirement by an all-female band of criminals to pull off one last job.
Thus far, “The Bad Guys 2” has received anything but bad feedback. The movie currently sports an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers saying the movie is a ton of fun, with plenty of playful mischief to delight audiences. It’s the perfect goofy day at the theaters to celebrate the last few weeks of summer.

When will ‘The Bad Guys 2’ stream on Peacock?
“The Bad Guys 2” is a DreamWorks picture and is distributed by Universal. That makes it easy to say where the movie will stream once it’s no longer exclusive to theaters and to transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) platforms; Peacock will get the movie first, and after a four-month period of exclusivity there, it will shift to Netflix.
How long will it take for the movie to reach Peacock? It’ll probably be closer to four months than two. The animated Universal movie “Dog Man” came to Peacock 119 days after being released in cinemas, and “The Wild Robot” had the exact same window. The wait for “Kung Fu Panda 4” was 105 days between theatrical bow and streaming debut.
There’s no reason to think “The Bad Guys 2” won’t follow a similar window. I think 119 days seems right for the movie, which means it will come to Peacock on Nov. 28, just in time for the movie to take advantage of holiday viewing windows. If that holds true, “The Bad Guys 2” will arrive on Netflix around the end of March 2026.
