Athetics, Phillies, and Giants join MLB.TV’s in-market streams
Fans of the three clubs can now stream all local games from each team with a special plan of MLB.TV.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs may have started their 2025 MLB seasons already, but for the rest of the league, Opening Day is still a week away. Ahead of that much-anticipated date, three MLB teams have announced a new streaming option for fans this season. The [Athletics][Oakland Athletics], Philadelphia Phillies, and San Francisco Giants will be available on special, in-market plans of MLB.TV this season, allowing fans to stream their games outside of their respective NBC Sports regional sports networks.
Key Details:
- In-market plans of MLB.TV for the three clubs will cost $20 to $25 per month.
- These teams are also available to stream with a special Peacock add-on, as well.
- Ahead of the 2025 season, 26 of the 30 MLB teams have an in-market streaming option of some kind.
As it has done for multiple other teams this season, MLB.TV has created new, in-market plans for the Athletics, Phillies, and Giants. Now, customers in the TV footprints of the teams in question can sign up and stream any games not appearing on national TV channels such as ESPN, Fox, or TBS with a subscription.
The plans for the Athletics and Giants will cost $20 per month, or fans can bundle them with an out-of-market package for $40 monthly. The Phillies plan will cost $25 per month, or $45 to combine with an out-of-market plan. Normally an out-of-market games service, MLB.TV now offers in-market streaming plans for several MLB teams.
This is actually the second new streaming option created for the Athletics, Phillies, and Giants so far this offseason. The three teams are also now available to stream via an add-on created for the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock, which allows customers of that streamer to purchase access to their region’s NBC Sports regional channel in applicable markets.
The Peacock add-on costs between $15 and $25 per month depending on your market, on top of a Peacock subscription costing at least $8. That means the MLB.TV plan to stream the Athletics, Phillies, and Giants will be slightly cheaper, though of course it won’t include access to Peacock’s on-demand library.
A total of 13 MLB clubs have established new in-market streaming options this offseason, bringing the total number of teams now available to stream without a pay-TV subscription to 26 out of 30. It’s not exactly the leaguewide streaming service MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has dreamed of using to end blackouts for in-market fans, but it’s a pretty good start.
