Ravens vs. Packers game in Week 17 to air exclusively on Peacock
Ravens vs. Packers game in Week 17 to air exclusively on Peacock
The streamer had been slated to offer a streaming-only game since spring, but the opponents were just announced this week.
We’ve long known that Peacock would host another streaming-exclusive NFL game in 2025, but we didn’t know which game it would be. The Streamable assumed that the announcement of the opponents for Peacock’s exclusive game would be dropped during the NFL schedule release back in May, but that didn’t happen. The league waited until Wednesday to inform viewers that the Peacock-only game set for Saturday, Dec. 27, will feature two teams with some of the most exciting quarterbacks in the entire league.
Key Details:
- Big bout: Peacock’s streaming NFL game will feature the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens.
- Saturday ball: The game will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
- Ratings spike?: Peacock’s previous exclusive NFL games have been major ratings wins for the streamer.
The streaming-only game on Peacock on Dec. 27 will feature the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. National audiences will only be able to watch the game on Peacock, while viewers in the markets of the two teams playing will see the game on their local NBC station.
Noah Eagle will serve as play-by-play announcer for the game, alongside analyst Todd Blackledge and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen. Although the Ravens’ playoff odds don’t look so great in 2025, the team still has Lamar Jackson at quarterback, and that should lead to some fireworks in the game regardless of the team’s record.
The contest marks the fourth exclusive NFL game to appear on Peacock. The first was back in 2023, and since then, the streamer has gotten at least one exclusive contest each season, despite the complaints of fans that have had to sign up for the streamer to watch.
The exclusive wild card game hosted by Peacock following the 2023 season drove more new subscriptions than any other event in the streamer’s history up to that time, so it’s clear that the NFL is a potent driver of acquisition for Peacock.
This Ravens vs. Packers game might not bring that many viewers to Peacock, but it certainly won’t hurt the streamer’s bottom line either. Once the game is over, Peacock will continue to stream all “Sunday Night Football” games and playoff games appearing on NBC through February, including Super Bowl LX.
