Peacock will stream an exclusive NFL game during the 2025 season in Week 17\

Peacock is set to welcome an exclusive NFL game for the third year in a row. The streamer has proven adept at luring big audiences to its platform for NFL games, and it will get a chance to do so once again during the 2025 holiday season.

Key Details:

  • Merry Christmas!: Peacock will offer an exclusive NFL game on Dec. 27.
  • Opponents TBD: The two teams playing in Peacock’s exclusive game will be revealed on May 14.
  • Four score: The game will be the fourth exclusive game Peacock has offered in its history.

Peacock will be the exclusive home of an NFL game on Saturday, Dec. 27. As with past streaming-exclusive NFL games, the league has confirmed that it will broadcast the game on linear NBC in the markets of the two teams playing, but otherwise viewers will only be able to see it on Peacock.

Who will those teams be? There’s no official confirmation yet, but fans won’t have to wait too long to find out. The NFL schedule release will occur on Wednesday, May 14 at 8 p.m., and viewers will learn which teams will meet on Peacock on Dec. 27, as well as all the other matchups in streaming-exclusive games.

There will be plenty of those to watch this season. Netflix will host a doubleheader on Christmas Day once again this year, and Prime Video will continue to offer “Thursday Night Football” games every week, including one on Christmas. There is also a widespread belief that YouTube will stream a Friday night game in the NFL’s opening week this year, though that has not been confirmed by league officials yet.

Peacock is no stranger to exclusive NFL streams. The service hosted its first exclusive NFL game in 2023, when it provided a Week 16 matchup, and then streamed an exclusive playoff game a few weeks later. In 2024, the platform offered an exclusive national stream of the opening-week Friday game between the Green Bay Packers and the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL officials have clearly been satisfied by the decent ratings Peacock turned in with its exclusive NFL streams, because it’s heading back to the well. All eyes will be on Wednesday’s NFL schedule release to see which teams will play exclusively on Peacock in Week 17 of 2025.
