Fox Weather Now Available via DISH, Sling Freestream as Free 24/7 Weather Channel Reaches Millions of New Homes

The latest additions to outlets carrying Fox Weather will make it available to millions of new homes.

Fox Weather is now available on DISH Network and Sling Freestream.

Temperatures are cooling down across the country, so as holiday travel picks up, this is the perfect time to start paying attention to local and national weather news. Fortunately, there is a new free option to get all of the weather-related coverage from Fox Weather. Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 29, the free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel has been made available to DISH Network subscribers, and for free on Sling Freestream.

  • Fox Weather provides around-the-clock coverage of the most important weather news for free.
  • The FAST channel is now available to cord-cutters via Sling Freestream, joining a host of other no-cost platforms.
  • Just over two years following its launch, Fox Weather is now available to millions via cable, subscription streaming, and free streaming providers.

Beginning today, Fox Weather is available on Sling Freestream, which is a FAST service available via the Sling TV app. Not only is there no cost for Freestream, but you don’t even need to make an account to watch any of the 24/7 channels on the platform. Fox Weather is the latest addition to Freestream’s collection of over 400 free channels, as well as a massive library that contains more than 41,000 on-demand titles.

The channel is also now available to DISH customers on channel 222 if they subscribe to either America’s Top 120, Top 200, or Top 250 channel packages. The channel will also be available via the DISH Anywhere TV app.

“As we continue to grow our premium live weather news service, we are thrilled to expand FOX Weather’s reach to include DISH Network and Sling Freestream consumers,” Fox Weather president Sharri Berg said.

Where Can You Watch Fox Weather Channel for Free?

The Fox Weather channel is now available on many free streaming platforms.

Since Fox Nation launched in October 2021, the free weather channel has quickly become a popular addition to many free and subscription streaming services, as well as cable and satellite providers. In August, the channel announced a deal with Samsung and Cox Cable that increased its reach by millions of homes. And earlier this year, Fox Weather joined Optimum Cable, Spectrum, and LG Channels as well.

Additionally, the channel is now available on Verizon Fios, Cox Communications, The Roku Channel, Fubo, YouTube TV, Fire TV Channels, DIRECTV STREAM, Xumo Play, WOW!, Vizio Watchfree+, TuneIn, Plex, and more. The outlet is also available through Fox station diginets in top markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and others.

In January, The Streamable exclusively reported the premiere of a new daily programming lineup for Fox Weather featuring well-known — and appropriately named — weather anchor Amy Freeze.

    Sling Freestream

    Sling Freestream is a free ad-supported TV service offered through Sling TV. It offers 520+ free live TV channels and over 41,000 on demand shows and movies, such as “Hell’s Kitchen,” “The Walking Dead,” and more.

    You’ll find news channels like ABC News Live, CBS News, and Scripps News. For general entertainment, you’ll see free channels with content from MTV, Comedy Central, and BET. You can watch Jimmy Kimmel highlights for free.

    For kids, you’ll even find some Sensical channels and Nick Jr shows.

    There are also “sneak peeks” available for services and channels like AMC+, MGM+, STARZ, and TNT, so you can watch free episodes of some prestige shows.

    Freestream offers international programming in seven languages, such as AajTak International, Zona TUDN, ARY News, France24, beIN SPORTS XTRA, SonyKal, Noticias Univision 24/7, TVP World, Al Jazeera English, and Al Arabiya.

    Users can also rent recent theatrical releases for $3.99-$24.99.

    FOX Weather

    FOX Weather is a 24/7 live weather service that offers coverage around the country. It includes forecasts, radar imagery, weather-related news, and live cameras at sites around the United States. The service is free and ad-supported. You can view the livestream at the top of the Watch tab in the FOX Weather mobile app.
