Have the midweek blues got you down? A little retail therapy could help, especially if you’re in the market for a new streaming service. Should you happen to be looking for something new to stream, we think there’s never been a better time to subscribe to the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock.

There are two plans we recommend choosing from Peacock if you’re looking to take the plunge: the ad-supported Premium plan for $11 per month, or the ad-free Premium Plus option for $17. But why is now the perfect time to give Peacock a try? Our experts will lay it out below.

Why now is a perfect time to subscribe to Peacock

Watch the Super Bowl and the Olympics for one low price

Peacock’s Premium and Premium Plus plans will give viewers access to a couple of major sporting events in February. First up is Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Peacock will stream the Big Game live at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 8, and will even make the game available in 4K at no extra charge!

In addition, viewers will be able to stream all 116 medal events from the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics with a Peacock subscription. Not only will events stream live on the service, but Peacock will once again surround the games with a bevvy of amazing features, including the “Gold Zone” whip-around show, a multiview that allows fans to watch up to four events at once, and new options like Rinkside Live.

All of these sports, plus live NBA and college basketball games, and much more are available with a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus subscription in February!

Check out new shows and movies

Peacock has a fantastic selection of live sports available, but its on-demand library of TV shows and movies can’t be ignored either. The streamer just released its newest season of the beloved reality show “The Traitors,” and it also offers a huge selection of episodes from favorite Bravo series. If you love reality TV, Peacock is a must-have subscription.

The streamer is also home to plenty of eye-catching scripted titles, such as the Golden Globe-nominated “All Her Fault,” and the new Cold War drama series “PONIES.” Comedies like the mockumentary “The Paper” are also abundant on Peacock, and the streamer also houses blockbuster movies from Universal.

Its library is a compelling enough reason to sign up for a Peacock subscription, but the streamer’s upcoming slate of live sports make it impossible to ignore this February. If you need a new streamer to check out, Peacock is ready and waiting!
