Everything you need to know about the 2025 Tour de France
Why we recommend Sling TV to watch the 2025 Tour de France
Simply put, Peacock is the only place that you will be able to watch the entire Tour de France. The streamer will have coverage of every stage of the Tour. While NBC will occasionally have a small handful of live and tape-delayed broadcasts, cycling enthusiasts who want to follow the Tour from Lille to the Champs-Élysées cannot do without Peacock.
Peacock
Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” “The Office,” and original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports and NBC programming, including the NFL, MLB, WWE, the Olympics, the Premier League, NASCAR, the French Open, college football and basketball, and the PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.
Can you watch the 2025 Tour de France for free?
Unfortunately, there is no way to watch all of the Tour coverage for free, as Peacock does not offer a free trial. However, with an ad-supported base price of just $8 per month, it is one of the most cost-efficient streamers on the market. While the Tour de France and all other live broadcasts will contain commercial breaks, the Peacock Premium Plus subscription includes ad-free on-demand streaming.
If you are just looking for a streaming service to watch the Tour coverage on NBC and nothing else, there are some free options available for you. DIRECTV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, and YouTube TV all offer free trials, but they vary in length, so be wary. DIRECTV’s industry-leading trial runs for five days, while Hulu + Live TV’s is a solid three days.
Those are pretty straightforward, but when it comes to the sports-minded streamer Fubo, things can get a little complicated. As The Streamable’s expert David Satin discovered when signing up for the services, figuring out how long Fubo’s trial is — even as you are signing up — can be a bit difficult. Nonetheless, it will be at least one day, with the potential to be as many as seven, depending on a wide range of factors that Fubo does not share publicly.
The YouTube TV trial is said to be “up to two weeks,” but can be as short as two days. So it is difficult to ascertain what you are actually getting before you go through the signup process.
If you are looking to watch the game for free, I would recommend DIRECTV, because that streamer has the longest guaranteed free trial.

What you need to know about the 2025 Tour de France
The 112th edition of the world’s most famous cycling race kicks off in Lille on Saturday, July 5 and will weave its way across France until it arrives in Paris on Sunday, July 27. The teams of riders will navigate over 3,300 kilometers across 21 stages, including working trips through the Pyrenees and the Alps. Unlike other recent editions, this year’s Tour will be entirely confined to the French borders, but will conclude with a new, more challenging finish that includes the iconic Montmartre hill.
This year’s route is designed to challenge all types of riders. There are seven flat stages for sprinters, six hilly stages, and six tough mountain stages, including climbs up famous mountains like Mont Ventoux and Col de la Loze. There are also two individual time trials, one of which goes uphill. These mountain stages and time trials will likely decide who wins the race overall.
Three-time and reigning champion Tadej Pogačar will look to become the youngest man to ever win four Tour titles, which Jonas Vingegaard is aiming for his third yellow jersey. Fans can also look forward to exciting sprints and stage wins from other top teams. With a mix of flat, hilly, and mountainous days, the 2025 Tour promises to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable races in years.
