Monumental Sports Network Launches Direct-to-Consumer Service; Everything You Need to Know

Fans in the Washington, D.C. area now have a new way to stream their favorite sports teams without a cable subscription.

The NHL season starts on Tuesday, Oct. 10, and the NBA is back to action just two weeks later on Oct. 24. Washington, D.C. sports fans who are bummed out because they don’t have a cable subscription to watch the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards have a great reason to cheer up this season.

Monumental Sports Network has released the details of its new direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service that will be available to Washington-area fans this week. Users can sign up for the platform now, but before you do, check out all the details below!

What Will New Monumental Sports Network Streamer Cost?

Fans will have two options for watching the Monumental Sports Network streaming platform: $19.99 per month, or $199.99 per year, a savings of $39.99 versus paying for 12 months at the monthly rate.

At this time, Monumental is not offering a single-game pass to its streaming platform.

Fans can choose from multiple angles when streaming on the platform, and rewind to watch a highlight again in slow motion. Users can also opt-in to receive notifications on scores, team and player updates, and even the new Monumental Sports newsletter.

The Monumental Sports Network streamer will allow users to watch a 24/7 live feed of the linear Monumental Sports Network, and will include original series like “Hometown with Rachel Nichols,” highlights from the week’s action that fans can watch any time, and personalization features that will emphasize the user’s favorite team.

Do Monumental’s Annual Subscribers Get Special Features and Discounts?

Yes! If you opt for the annual subscription to the new Monumental Sports Network streaming platform, you’ll be able to stream the app on multiple devices simultaneously. Monthly subscribers will only be able to watch the streamer on a single device at once.

Annual subscribers will also get a 20% discount off team merchandise and apparel, discounted tickets to select games, and pre-sale ticket access to both regular season and playoff games. In addition, the first 10,000 subscribers to the network’s new Annual Membership will receive an exclusive, limited-edition bobblehead set of three featuring Alex Ovechkin, Kyle Kuzma, and Elena Delle Donne.

Will Linear Monumental Sports Network Subscribers Have to Pay Extra to Stream?

No, if you already get Monumental Sports Network as part of your cable or satellite subscription, you will be able to log into the new streaming platform at no additional cost with their TV Everywhere credentials. Pay TV subscribers get all the same benefits as an annual subscriber to the streamer.

What Devices Can You Use to Stream the Monumental Sports Network App?

The Monumental Sports Network app is currently available on Android and iOS-powered streaming devices, as well as Roku and Amazon Fire TV. If your device doesn’t support the new app yet, keep checking back, as more brands are likely to be added soon.
