Stream ‘Peacemaker’ finale, ‘Elsbeth’ premiere, more this week
HBO Max’s latest DC series wraps its second season, and a live-action adaptation of a beloved animated property lands this week as well.
How are we feeling going into the second full week of October, TV viewers? If you’re a YouTube TV subscriber, you may not be feeling all that great; although the streamer managed to dodge a carriage dispute with NBC, it is missing both Univision and Monumental Sports Network at the moment, and there’s not much indication that they’re coming back any time soon.
Either way, we’re going into a new week with new options to stream each day. Check out my favorite picks of titles to stream each and every day of the upcoming week — and I promise, if you’re being affected by blackouts, you’ll still be able to watch all of these shows and movies!

‘Monday Night Football,’ Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | ABC and ESPN, watch for as little as $5 with Sling TV
This is the exact kind of game that Sling TV’s new Passes are perfect for. If you don’t have another way to get ABC and ESPN, you can watch this storyline-filled Monday night matchup for just $5 with Sling. The Kansas City Chiefs enter the game at 2-2, with analysts wondering what kind of slow start the team is having this year; the kind that could still lead to the Super Bowl, or the kind that means they’re searching for answers at the end of the season.
Sling TV
Sling TV is The Streamable’s choice for cord-cutters on a budget. Sling is a live TV streaming service with multiple channel packages. The $45.99/month Sling Orange plan offers about 30 channels, including Disney Channel and ESPN. The $45.99/month Sling Blue plan offers about 40 channels, including ABC, Fox, and NBC in major markets.
You can combine Orange+Blue for a total of $60.99 / month. Sling also offers many channel add-on packages starting at $6/month.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are 3-1 to start the year, and all the buzz surrounding the team is focused on whether or not Liam Coen has finally found the answer to unlocking quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s potential. But the Jags’ defense has been sneaky good as well, and the Travis Hunter intrigue alone makes this a game you can’t miss as an NFL fan.

“I used to take pills for fun. Now I take them to stay alive,” the recently deceased rock legend Ozzy Osbourne says in the trailer for the new documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now.” The film is exclusively premiering on Paramount+, giving fans one last chance to say goodbye to the beloved superstar.

This is Ozzy like you’ve never seen before: an honest, warm and deeply personal portrait of one of the greatest rock stars of all-time, detailing how the singer’s world shuddered to a halt six years ago, forcing him to contemplate who he really is, confront his own mortality and question whether or not he can ever perform on stage for one last time.

Flore Robin, a young investigator, begins her career in the police force on the very day the first body is discovered. She must team up with police captain Franck Vidal and his mentor Félix Sabueso. Over the next twenty years, an extraordinary investigation unfolds across the country as the hunt for a mysterious and ruthless serial killer rages on, while a mother holds on to the hope of finding her daughter alive.

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 finale | HBO Max
Chris Smith is through the looking glass this season on “Peacemaker.” The explosion-loving antihero is now dealing with the discovery of an alternate dimension, and instead of being despised, his family is universally adored as heroes, all while being pulled deeper into alternate realities.
In the season finale of “Peacemaker,” Chris’s illusions of the perfect world will be fully turned upside down. Season antagonist Rick Flag Sr. is hell-bent on holding Chris accountable for the death of his son, and each character has a personal battle to win — or lose — before the season wraps up.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ live-action movie premiere | Peacock
On the isle of Berk, Vikings and dragons have battled for generations, but that won’t stop Hiccup (Mason Thames), the son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), from building an unlikely bond with the feared dragon, Toothless. With an ancient evil threatening their worlds, it’s up to Hiccup, Toothless, and their courageous companion Astrid (Nico Parker) to make the realm realize they’re stronger together.
Live-action adaptations of animated classics can be tricky to execute — just ask Disney. But fans all over the world signaled their love for the “How to Train Your Dragon” adaptation, which has a 97% fan score on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’ve been waiting for the movie to stream to see for yourself, the wait has now ended — right around when I predicted it would all the way back in November.
