DIRECTV STREAM adds C-SPAN, baseball RSNs, and more
The inner workings of the U.S. government may seem like a mystery to many citizens (especially when there seems to be no rhyme or reason to most acts and orders of late), but one Republican congressman is doing the seemingly unthinkable: advocating for greater government transparency.
On March 25, Representative Mike Flood (R-NE) renewed his advocacy calls from the floor for the inclusion of CSPAN and its associated channels on more live TV streaming services. The congressman has been vocal in his efforts to get more services to incorporate the commentary-free network, which was founded in 1979 as a nonprofit public service, into their channel packages. In January, Flood and colleague Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) signed a letter to Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV to urge the services to pick up the channel, efforts which have so far not been met.
However, one major streamer has budged: beginning next week, DIRECTV STREAM customers will be able to access C-SPAN and [CSPAN 2] via its MyNews package, one of several changes coming to the service’s existing entertainment, sports, and news packages.
Also among the changes are the additions of the Ovation channel and the ad-supported version of Max to its MyEntertainment package, which already includes over 40 popular cable networks like Bravo, FX, and more at no extra cost to subscribers.
DIRECTV STREAM will also beef up its baseball offerings just in time for the 2025 MLB season with its MyHome Team add-on pack, which will now include several regional sports networks (RSN) like Spectrum SportsNet LA for watching the Los Angeles Dodgers; MLB-owned-and-operated team channels for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins, and San Diego Padres; and more.
The new rollout is the latest rollout for the live TV streamer, which began offering genre-specific channel packages in late February.

What to stream this weekend: Tour ‘The Studio,’ starring Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, and more

Enter the Apple TV+ lot for “The Studio,” the new Seth Rogen-led comedy series that gives you a glimpse inside the chaos, creative ambition, and overinflated egos making your favorite movies.
Created by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Frida Perez, Peter Huyck, and Alex Gregory, the new 10-episode industry comedy series premiered on Wednesday, March 26, with its first two episodes. The story follows Matt Remick (Rogen), the newly appointed head of the film production company Continental Studios, who is tasked with holding the floundering company together in an industry undergoing rapid social and economic changes.
Beyond Rogen, “The Studio” is irresistible thanks to its a-list cast, which, beyond Rogen, also includes Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, with guest appearances from Bryan Cranston, Martin Scorsese, Greta Lee, Steve Buscemi, and many other screen greats playing themselves and others.
On the heels of other hits like “Severance” and “Dope Thief,” Apple TV+ doesn’t have anything to worry about with “The Studio”: the new series already holds a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 84 on Metacritic, with critics calling it “impeccably crafted” and “a strong contender for the best new comedy of 2025.”
The first two episodes of “The Studio” are available now exclusively on Apple TV+ with new episodes dropping every Wednesday through May 21.
The Studio
Desperate for celebrity approval, the newly appointed head of a movie studio and his executive team at Continental Studios must juggle corporate demands with creative ambitions as they try to keep movies alive and relevant.
