Stream the NFL’s return, more this week
A new ‘Real Housewives’ season and an ‘Office’ documentary are dropping this week, and viewers can also find stirring tributes to those lost on Sept. 11.
It’s finally arrived. We’re now through the first week of September, and with the second week comes the start of the 2026 NFL regular season. For partners of NFL fans, that means their Sundays won’t be the same through February, and they may not see much of their loved one on Mondays or Thursdays, either. Non-football fans may be unimpressed with the week’s list of new titles to stream, because there’s a ton of NFL action on the schedule. But football still can’t rule every day of the week, and we’ve got other recommendations to check out as well!
Monday, Sept. 7
‘Fan Level Midnight: Devoted to The Office’ limited series premiere | Peacock
“The Office” is a show that fans just can’t stop going back to. It may be the ultimate rewatch title, and it has evolved from a TV series to a cultural phenomenon in the two decades since it first premiered. “Fan Level Midnight” is a six-part docuseries dedicated to exploring the show’s enduring legacy.
Peacock
Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” “The Office,” and original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports and NBC programming, including the NFL, MLB, WWE, the Olympics, the Premier League, NASCAR, the French Open, college football and basketball, and the PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.
Told through the eyes of an incredibly devoted fanbase, “Fan Level Midnight” delves into the impact the series has had on American culture. With the benefit of never-before-heard stories, original interviews with cast and creatives including Kathy Bates, Seth Rogen, and Andy Buckley, archival interviews, and more, fans can visit Dunder Mifflin Scranton as they never have before.
Tuesday, Sept. 8
‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ Season 16 premiere | Bravo, watch with a free trial of YouTube TV
Saddle up, “RHONY” fans! The real housewives of the Big Apple are back and better than ever. Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Carole Radziwill, Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye are ready to take Gotham by storm and bring fans along for the ride.
From the concrete jungle to the sandy beaches of a private island, they work hard and play even harder as some friendships grow stronger, new ones form, and others take unexpected turns. When pieces of the past resurface and new tensions emerge, the women find themselves navigating shifting loyalties and fractured friendships.
Wednesday, Sept. 9
New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks | NBC and Peacock
That’s right, NFL fans — the 2026 season has finally arrived. Things get started for the league on a Wednesday this season, when viewers will be treated to a rematch of Super Bowl LX, in which the Seahawks defeated the hapless Patriots 29-13.
But it’s a new season for both teams, and that means anything can happen. Drake Maye and the Patriots may have an answer for the lockdown defense of Mike Macdonald and the Seahawks, who are trying to climb a mountain few NFL teams have ever ascended as repeat champions. The game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
Thursday, Sept. 10
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams | Netflix
The first-ever regular-season NFL game to be played in Australia deserves some attention, especially when it features two NFC West teams that are quite accustomed to being in the league’s final four when playoff time rolls around. Rams vs. 49ers is a historic rivalry, and this year’s first game between the two is packed with storylines.
Netflix
Netflix is a leading subscription-based video streaming service that offers on-demand access to an extensive library of over 3,000 movies, 2,000+ TV shows, and a growing collection of acclaimed Netflix originals. Renowned for producing groundbreaking content, Netflix has become a cultural powerhouse with hit originals like “Stranger Things,” “Wednesday,” “Squid Game,” “The Crown,” “Tiger King,” “Bridgerton,” “The Witcher,” and “Black Mirror.”
The Rams look like a juggernaut this season, trading for star pass-rusher Miles Garrett and coaxing future Hall-of-Fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald out of retirement for an all-or-nothing run at the Super Bowl. The 49ers’ injury woes continue, and their head coach is under a cloud of scandal stemming from an offseason auto accident, but the team always plays well when the lights are bright. The game begins at 8:35 p.m. ET.
Friday, Sept. 11

It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
The special will also commemorate the resilience of the survivors, families, first responders, and communities forever changed by the attacks. Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer will lead the emotional broadcast live from New York City beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
Saturday, Sept. 12
‘Falling Into Place’ original movie premiere | Hallmark Channel, watch with a subscription to Philo
With autumn just around the corner, Hallmark Channel wants to help viewers put summer behind them. This romantic movie stars Alvina August as Kaia, a woman who returns to her hometown just in time for its traditional fall festival.
It also just so happens to be her high school reunion, and Kaia ends up reuniting with her childhood best friend James (Nathan Witte), who wants to help her complete her unfinished fall bucket list. The leaves may be falling, but something seems to be blooming between them!
Sunday, Sept. 13
NFL regular season kick-off | CBS, Fox, NBC, watch with a subscription to DIRECTV
I apologize to non-football fans, and promise that this will be the only time this year I load up my recommendations with so many NFL games. Probably. But the first NFL Sunday of the season is must-see TV for millions of fans around the country, and the vast majority of teams in the league will be in action at some point during the day.
DIRECTV
DIRECTV is one of The Streamable’s top choices for the best live TV streaming service overall in 2026, especially for users who want the most channels or want to watch the most live sports. With an unbeatable lineup of local, news, sports, and entertainment channels, three main signature packages, an unlimited DVR, and 20 simultaneous streams at home, DIRECTV remains a premier choice for any cord-cutter.
Viewers will once again find regional NFL action on CBS and Fox during the afternoon, with different games airing on the channels depending on which market they are in. For the nightcap game on NBC, viewers will be treated to an NFC East showdown when the Dallas Cowboys visit the New York Giants.
