DIRECTV quietly lowers price of MySports Genre Pack
It’s not often that a streaming service decides to cut the price of a streaming plan, but that’s exactly what DIRECTV did this week. On Tuesday, DIRECTV began offering a deal for $20 off its MySports Genre Pack for two months. With the deal, customers get MySports for $45 per month.
This caught our eye, since the MySports package launched in 2025 at a price of $70 per month. Although DIRECTV has made no official announcement, it has confirmed to The Streamable that the retail price of the MySports Genre Pack is permanently decreasing by $5 to $65 per month.
The company did not reply to a request for comment as to why the price decrease is happening now. YouTube TV recently launched its own sports-only channel plan at $65 per month, so the price cut for DIRECTV’s MySports could be intended to compete more directly with that service. If we get more details from DIRECTV, we’ll make sure to share them with our readers, so check back for more!
