How to Watch Houston Astros vs. New York Mets 2025 Opening Day Game
Check out all of the ways to stream your favorite baseball team’s Opening Day action.
Is this the year that the long-suffering fans of the New York Mets will get their revenge on the rest of the league? Only time will tell, but the team from Flushing Queens will get its season started on Thursday, March 27 as they take on one of the most controversial teams in Major League Baseball, the Houston Astros. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and the game will air on SportsNet NY in New York and on Space City Home Network in Houston. If you live in one of those markets and are looking for a live TV streaming service to watch this game and the whole season, I recommend Fubo for Astros fans and Hulu + Live TV for Mets fans. If you don’t live near your club of choice, the best way to watch the games is with MLB.TV.

Everything you need to know to stream Houston Astros vs. New York Mets:
Why do we recommend Fubo and Hulu + Live TV
When dealing with regional sports networks (RSNs), the right streaming service for one team’s fandom might not be right for another’s, and that is the case in this instance. If you are in the Houston market, then your best option for streaming the game is with Fubo. While DIRECTV STREAM also carries the Astros’ flagship channel Space City Home Network, both offer free trials (more on that in a minute), but if you are looking for the best live TV streaming service to watch Astros games, then Fubo will cost you about $10 less per month than DIRECTV STREAM.
If you live in or around New York market, the game is streaming on SportsNet NY, and the best way to stream the channel is with Hulu + Live TV. Not only is that the cheapest option, it also comes with the added benefit of the full Disney Bundle, meaning you will also get Hulu’s on-demand library and all of Disney+ and ESPN+.

-

Hulu Live TV is a live TV streaming service with more than 70 channels for $89.99 per month. Hulu + Live TV base plan includes local channels 32 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs). Subscribers get free access to Disney+ and ESPN Select at no extra charge.
Can you stream without a live TV streaming subscription?
Do the New York Mets have a streaming service?
The answer to that question is a little complicated. So… yes and no? The best way to stream the games of the New York Metropolitans in the tri-state area without a live streaming service is with SNY through the MLB App. This unique partnership was announced last month and will allow baseball fans in and around New York to stream Mets games for $25 per month or $125 for the entire season.
There is also a plan for $150 for the year that will include Mets in-market games with every other team’s out-of-market games via MLB.TV.
Do the Houston Astros have a streaming service?
Unfortunately, as of publication time, there has been no announcement about how you can stream Astros games without a live TV streaming subscription.
Can you watch Houston Astros vs. New York Mets for free?
You can! Fortunately, both Fubo and Hulu + Live TV offer free trials. Hulu’s is a guaranteed three days, but Fubo’s is a little trickier to pin down as it can range from one to seven days, depending on a number of factors. Either way, you should be able to watch Opening Day (and hopefully a few other games) at no cost before having to pay for either service.
And, depending on which market you are in, there are other options if you are just looking to see how much you can watch for free.

How to stream the game outside of the home markets?
Now, if you do not live in the home market of either team, you can still watch the game; in fact, it might be cheaper and easier that way. Major League Baseball’s groundbreaking out-of-market streaming service MLB.TV will broadcast every game of the season that is not available on a national broadcast or cable channel like ESPN, Fox, or TBS, or streaming on Apple TV+ or Roku.
You can sign up for a monthly subscription to watch any game for $30 per month. The annual all-teams version costs $150, and an individual team season-long package runs $130.
MLB.TV
MLB.TV is the official streaming service of Major League Baseball. You can see every out-of-market game live or on-demand and choose home or away TV and radio feeds. The app allows fans to watch up to four games simultaneously on the same screen through its Multi-view feature. MLB.TV can be added to your Sling TV or Prime Video subscription.
