Which streamers should you keep, and which can you cancel in June?
We’ll give our monthly recommendations on which streamers are absolute must-haves, and which are safe to say farewell to.
It’s June, and that means it’s time to cancel all your streaming services in preparation for a summer outside, right? You can go that way if you want, but if you do, you’re going to miss out on a great selection of streaming premieres over the next few months.
June starts things off strong, with some long-anticipated TV show returns. Which services are hosting titles that you just can’t miss, and which can you safely cancel to sign up for another time? See which streamers we recommend keeping, and which you can probably cancel safely for the month below.
Streamers to keep, cancel in June 2026

HBO Max
HBO Max will unveil its third season of “House of the Dragon” on June 21, and it will bear watching if for no other reason than to see if the show can win back fans and critics after a so-so second season. Season 3 promises epic battles and plenty of Targaryen tension as Princess Rhaenyra grows closer to claiming the Iron Throne.
The series is just as fascinating behind the scenes as it is on the screen. Showrunner Ryan Condal and “House of the Dragon” novel writer George R.R. Martin’s relationship has completely fractured over changes to the source material from page to screen, and it will bear watching Season 3 to see if it hews closer to Martin’s vision.

HBO Max just can’t quit Larry David. To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, the streamer will debut the comedy series “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.” The sketch comedy show is produced by David, as well as Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground. A collaboration of Larry David and the Obamas wasn’t on my bingo card for 2026, but I, for one, can’t wait to see the result. The series debuts on Friday, June 26, at 9 p.m. ET.
If you don’t currently have an HBO Max subscription, you can grab one for $11 if you’re willing to stream with ads, or pay $18.49 per month to stream ad-free. Annual plans of the streaming service are also available.
HBO Max
HBO Max is a subscription video streaming service that gives access to the full HBO library and exclusive Max Originals. There are hubs for content from TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, TCM, Cartoon Network, Travel Channel, ID, and more. Within HBO Max, B/R Sports allows users to watch live NBA, MLB, NHL, March Madness, and NASCAR events.
Peacock
Is it really even summer without a new season of “Love Island USA”? A dozen new singles are ready to head to the Fiji Villa for a drama-filled summer of love, lust, and cutthroat maneuvering to stay on top as contestants vie for a $100,000 prize. The cast includes players from across the United States, as well as one from the U.K. The Season 8 premiere of “Love Island USA” drops on Peacock on June 2.

The cloak-and-dagger thriller series “https://thestreamable.com/The Capture” will see its third season premiere on Peacock on June 18. The show centers on Rachel Carey, a U.K. intelligence investigator attempting to dispel a multi-government plot to manipulate the public with fake imagery, cyberattacks, and AI-powered disinformation.
If you’re a soccer fan with a Peacock subscription — particularly one who prefers or needs to watch in Spanish — you’ll be able to stream the 2026 FIFA World Cup from start to finish in Spanish on the streamer. Peacock will host all 104 matches from the tournament with Spanish-language announcers, giving fans with no access to Fox platforms an alternative to watch.
Peacock
Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that includes original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. Peacock is home to “Yellowstone,” “The Office,” and original hits like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air.” You can also watch live sports and NBC programming, including the NFL, MLB, WWE, the Olympics, the Premier League, NASCAR, the French Open, college football and basketball, and the PGA Tour. Premium Plus subscribers can stream their local NBC feed in all 210 markets.
Apple TV
“Cape Fear” has a strong chance to become Apple TV’s next big thriller. The series is the latest attempt to adapt John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel “The Executioners,” and stars Javier Bardem as Max Cady, an unreformed convict whose release from prison spells a nightmare for the husband-wife legal team that helped to put him behind bars. The first episode of “Cape Fear” arrives on Apple TV on June 5.

Also arriving on Apple TV on June 5 is the “Your Friends & Neighbors” Season 2 finale. Jon Hamm’s character Coop thought he was on top of the world with his catburgling hobby, but when a new, unpredictable neighbor discovers his dirty little secret, he soon has Coop firmly under his thumb. The water is rising fast and will soon be over Coop’s head unless he thinks of a way out.
If you need a palate cleanser after all that heavy viewing, you can check out “Sugar” Season 2, which hits Apple TV+ on June 19. Colin Farrell returns as John Sugar, a private detective who also happens to be an alien sent to Earth to study humanity. Refusing to return to his home planet, Sugar has opted to stay on Earth alone as he hunts down his missing sister, Djen.
Apple TV has just one plan — its ad-free subscription costing $13 per month for full access to the Apple TV library of original movies and shows.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Streamers to cancel
Disney+
While you may question the decision to cancel a kid-friendly streaming service at the start of summer vacation, rest assured that you can find plenty of streaming titles for children on services like Netflix, Peacock, or Paramount+. Disney+ doesn’t have any Marvel or Star Wars franchises debuting in June, and while I may be alone in this opinion, I wasn’t all that impressed with “Avatar: Fire & Ash,” which hits the service on June 24.
“The Bear” Season 5 will arrive on Disney+ and Hulu on June 25, but you can watch that show on Hulu without needing a Disney+ subscription. Ultimately, there are better options available for the kind of content Disney+ offers this June.
Disney+
Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
Prime Video
If you’re a “Legend of Vox Machina” fan, you’re probably shouting at your device screen at the moment, and I understand. But outside of that original series, there’s not a huge amount to talk about on Prime Video in June; with “The Boys” series finale over, the streamer is taking a bit of a breather this month.
Sports fans who are mourning the end of NBA games on Prime Video until October can check out WNBA contests on the streamer this month, but outside of that league and the NWSL Challenge Cup on June 26, premier sports events on Prime Video will be hard to come by in June as well.
Prime Video
Prime Video is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 10,000+ movies, TV shows, and Prime Originals like “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “Jack Ryan,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The Boys,” and more. Subscribers can also add third-party services like Max, Showtime, STARZ, and dozens more with Prime Video Channels. Prime Video also offers exclusive live access to NFL Thursday Night Football.
