This Week’s Biggest Streaming News:
Bally Sports Regional Networks Rebrand As FanDuel Sports Network
Everything old is new again for Bally Sports networks parent company Diamond Sports Group. As The Streamable reported late last week, the company announced it had finalized a deal with sports betting company FanDuel to rebrand its regional sports networks (RSNs) under the new name FanDuel Sports Network. The renamed service went live this past Monday, Oct. 21, ending multi-month talks between Diamond and the sports betting company to become long-term naming rights partners.
The FanDuel Sports Network (not to be confused with FanDuel TV+ or FanDuel TV) replaces Bally Sports+, although not all of the streamer’s teams have made the transition with the rebrand. The current lineup features 13 NBA teams, 8 NHL teams, and 8 MLB teams, whose games can be accessed by subscribers living in their broadcast areas.
The “new” service is offering a seven-day trial ahead of a monthly plan for $20 (or a bundle for $30 if applicable), an annual plan for $190, or a Season Pass for $125.

What to Stream This Weekend: 2024 World Series Begins Tonight
It all comes down to this: the Fall Classic. Tonight, Oct. 25, the 2024 MLB World Series begins and after 162 regular season games and a combined 20 stress-inducing postseason games for the American League champion New York Yankees and the National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers, the two teams slug it out in an East-versus-West battle of coastal boasting rights. This is the first time the two teams have faced each other since the 1981 World Series, where the Dodgers bested the Yankees 4–2 to become World Champs.
Courtesy of some big swings against the Cleveland Guardians by ALCS MVP Giancarlo Stanton, Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and co., the New York Yankees won the AL pennant for the first time since 2009, the last year they also won the World Series.
On the other side of the diamond, after giving the New York Mets much to grimace about, the Dodgers, with certified slugger Shohei Ohtani and big Halloween fan Kiké Hernández, continue their past decade of division dominance. They’re also back in the Fall Classic for the first time since their last World Series win in 2020.
The first pitch for the 2024 World Series Game 1 is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET/5:08 p.m. PT at Dodgers Stadium on FOX. The series will continue with Game 2 tomorrow night (same at-bat-time, same at-bat-channel). If you’re in the United States, we recommend a DIRECTV STREAM Entertainment plan to catch all the action, but for the complete World Series schedule, head over to our How To Watch guide to get you tuned into the World Series from anywhere in the world!
