How much are Netflix’s ad-free plans now?
Netflix’s price increases have pushed the Standard plan from $15.49 per month to $18, and the Premium plan from $23 to $25 per month. The Standard plan comes with support for two simultaneous streams, allows for downloads on two devices, and full 1080p HD streaming quality.
The Premium plan includes the ability to watch in 4K with select titles, four simultaneous streams within the home, and the ability to download on six devices at once.
Apple TV+
Apple TV+ has the cheapest ad-free offering on the market at $10 per month. The biggest difference you’ll notice between Apple TV+ and Netflix is the amount of content; Apple’s streamer follows a philosophy of offering only original, high-quality shows like “Severance,” “Ted Lasso,” and others. That means that, while you’ll find plenty of prestige TV to watch on the streamer, you won’t see much in the way of licensed content or lean-back shows like “Seinfeld.”
Features-wise, Apple TV+ will allow you to watch on up to six devices at a time, and download on an unlimited number of devices as well. Its entire catalog is available to stream in 4K at no extra charge.
Disney+
Disney+ isn’t staggeringly cheaper than Netflix when it comes to ad-free streaming. Its Premium plan costs $16 per month, but it will offer an experience closer to that of Netflix. It carries plenty of original shows, including those from the Marvel and Star Wars universes, hugely popular options for younger kids like “Bluey,” and even lean-back options like “The Simpsons.”
The premium plan allows for unlimited downloads, four simultaneous streams within the same household, and 4K resolution on select titles as well.
Get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for just $16.99 a month ($14 savings).
Max
Like Disney+, Max offers a catalog closer to what viewers will find on Netflix, though at $17 per month, it’s not a huge step down in monthly price. Nevertheless, it mixes HBO originals like “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us” with an intriguing back-catalog of shows like “The Big Bang Theory” and “Friends.” It also offers news programming through the CNN Max hub, and sports via the Bleacher Report add-on — though, the latter will eventually cost an extra $10 per month to watch.
Max allows for 30 downloaded titles on its ad-free plan. That number jumps to 100 for the Ultimate ad-free plan, which also comes with Dolby Atmos sound for $21 per month. Both ad-free plans allow viewers to stream select titles in 4K, and Max comes with three simultaneous streams.
Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
You can save $5 per month by switching from Netflix’s Standard plan to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. It runs $13 per month, and the streamer’s catalog balances new titles like Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman” with plenty of solid library choices, like shows from the Star Trek franchise, “NCIS” and its various spin-off series, and even kids options like “SpongeBob SquarePants.” It also features the SHOWTIME library, so series like “Dexter: Original Sin” and “Yellowjackets” are available too. That’s before getting into its sports options, like weekly NFL games on Sunday afternoons.
Select titles are available in 4K on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. You will also get with the streamer is a livestream of your local CBS station, unlocking live sports and streaming on top of what comes with a standard Paramount+ subscription. You can watch on up to three devices at a time, and download titles for offline viewing as well.
Peacock
Peacock charges $14 per month for ad-free streaming on its Premium Plus plan. Viewers will be able to enjoy blockbuster movies from Universal, a lineup of favorites like “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Office,” and “Yellowstone,” as well as original shows like “Bel-Air” and “Poker Face. The full catalog of live sports found on Peacock is also available to Premium Plus customers.
Peacock Premium Plus also includes 4K streaming on some titles, and a live stream of your local NBC station. It offers three simultaneous streams, and you can download titles for offline viewing with the service as well.
Prime Video
Amazon’s streamer Prime Video will ask you for $12 per month to stream ad-free, a savings of $6 over Netflix. Prime Video has one of the largest catalogs of TV shows and movies of any service and backs it up with originals like “The Boys,” “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” and much more. It also comes with weekly streams of “Thursday Night Football” during NFL season, and will welcome live NBA games starting in 2025.
You can stream on up to three devices, but you can only download up to 25 titles at a time with this service. Some Prime Original shows are available in 4K with Prime Video as well.
