Fans of the distinct and imaginative Japanese animation format known as anime will soon have yet another way to sign up for one of the best anime-forward streaming services available. Crunchyroll has a huge library of more than 25,000 hours of anime content, and it announced on Tuesday that before the end of 2024, customers could subscribe to it via the YouTube Primetime Channels digital store.

The launch of Crunchyroll on YouTube’s Primetime Channels has not yet been given a specific date but has been promised by year’s end. Primetime Channels will offer Crunchyroll in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
To check and see if Crunchyroll has been rolled out on YouTube’s Primetime Channels, viewers need only check in with the YouTube Movies & TV store, then scroll to the Primetime Channels section. Once it’s available there, simply click on the Crunchyroll icon to subscribe.
The distribution of Crunchyroll via YouTube’s Primetime Channels platform will allow viewers to sign up for the service and watch all of its content directly through the YouTube app. Any other Primetime Channel subscriptions purchased by the user will also be found this way, allowing customers to consolidate their streaming content and bills in one place.
Primetime Channels now offers more than 45 channels and streaming services. Services from AMC+ to Max to Paramount+ are available there, and interested customers do not need to have a YouTube TV or YouTube Premium account to purchase subscriptions through Primetime Channels.
Crunchyroll has 15 million paid subscribers around the world, and the size of its library makes it easy to see why it’s so popular among audiences. It has more than 50,000 TV episodes alone and will welcome 40+ new series this fall, including “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” “One Piece” and more. Crunchyroll subscription prices start at just $8 per month.
