Content
Amazon Music Unlimited brings together a wide mix of content in one place, combining a deep music catalog with podcasts, audiobooks, and exclusive releases.
At its core is a massive on-demand library of over 100 million songs, supported by high-quality HD and Ultra HD audio and immersive spatial sound. Alongside music, listeners get access to millions of podcast episodes, curated playlists, and Amazon Music Originals created exclusively for the platform.
The experience also extends into audiobooks, with a monthly Audible selection included on eligible plans. Everything is designed for flexible listening, whether you’re streaming online or downloading for offline playback across devices.
100+ million songs
The music library includes over 100 million songs available on demand, covering a wide range of artists, albums, and genres.
A large portion of the catalog is available in high-def (HD) audio, with millions of tracks also offered in Ultra HD for higher-resolution sound. Select songs are available in spatial audio formats like Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio for a more immersive listening experience.
Everything is ad-free with unlimited skips, and you can stream music anytime or download tracks, albums, and playlists for offline listening.
The library also includes curated playlists and personalized stations to help you discover new music, along with access to millions of podcast episodes and a monthly Audible audiobook on eligible plans.
There is a dedicated catalog of Amazon Music Originals and exclusive content not available on other platforms.
These Originals feature exclusive recordings such as new tracks, cover versions, and alternative takes created specifically for the service by artists including Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, Ellie King, Brian Eno, and Jelly Roll.
The platform also curates playlists like Best of Amazon Music Originals, bringing these releases together in one place, along with early releases and artist collaborations between Amazon and both emerging and established talent.
In select regions, subscribers also receive one free Audible audiobook each month, including Audible Originals.
Features
Amazon Music Unlimited has access to over 100 million songs ad-free, along with the ability to play any track, album, or playlist on demand. The library includes high-resolution audio options and millions of Ultra HD tracks for a more detailed listening experience, plus spatial audio support via Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio.
You also get unlimited skips and offline downloads, so you can listen without interruptions or an internet connection. Streaming support varies by plan: the Family Plan allows multiple simultaneous streams across different devices, while other plans are limited to single-device playback.
Parental controls are included, with options to block explicit content, manage child profiles in the Amazon Parent Dashboard, and set restrictions on supported devices. Alongside music, eligible plans include one Audible audiobook each month at no extra cost, giving access to a rotating selection from a large audiobook catalog.
Simultaneous Streams
Simultaneous streaming on Amazon Music Unlimited also varies based on the plan.
The Individual Plan allows streaming on 1 device at a time. The Family Plan supports up to 6 simultaneous streams across 6 different devices. Each person can listen at the same time. The Single Device Plan is limited to 1 specific Echo or Fire TV device. Playback is locked to that device only, with no switching to other devices.
You can authorize up to 10 devices on your account, but streaming is still capped based on your plan. Features like Alexa Multi-Room Music can play across multiple speakers, but it counts as just one stream.
If you want the most flexibility for streaming on multiple devices at once, the Family Plan offers the highest limit.
Profiles
Profile limits vary depending on the plan you choose.
The Individual Plan and Student Plan each include 1 profile. These are meant for one person, with their own recommendations and playlists.
The Family Plan supports up to 6 profiles. Each person gets their own account, so everyone has separate music suggestions, libraries, and listening history. You can also stream on up to 6 devices at the same time.
The Single Device Plan is limited to 1 profile and works on just one device.
If you want the most profiles, the Family Plan offers the highest limit, with up to 6 users.
Offline Downloads
Download songs, albums, and playlists for offline listening.
Tap download on any track, album, or playlist, then find everything in the Downloaded section of your library.
You can choose audio quality from Standard to HD, Ultra HD, and Spatial Audio. Higher quality uses more storage.
Downloads stay inside the Amazon Music app. You can’t move them to other apps or devices.
To save data, turn on Stream only on WiFi and Play downloads first so the app uses your saved music instead of streaming.
Amazon Music Unlimited includes a large, built-in podcast library alongside its music catalog.
Subscribers get access to millions of podcast episodes, including popular and exclusive shows like MrBallen Podcast, Morbid, and Dateline. A big draw is ad-free listening on many top podcasts, so you can jump into episodes without interruptions.
Podcasts are fully integrated into the app, so you can browse, follow shows, and switch between episodes and music all in one place. You can listen on iOS, Android, Fire Tablets, the web player, and Alexa-enabled devices.
Audiobooks are included, with a rotating selection of Audible titles each month.
You can choose one audiobook at a time from a catalog of over 1 million titles, then switch it out at your next monthly renewal. It’s a simple pick-and-listen setup.
Books are available in the Amazon Music app through the Audible tab.
This feature is available to Individual plan subscribers and the primary account holder on Family plans in the US, UK, and Canada. On Family plans, only the main account holder can choose the monthly audiobook.
Parental Controls
Parental controls help keep listening safe and age-appropriate across devices.
You can block explicit content right in the app by turning on “Block explicit songs” in Settings. Once enabled, tracks marked explicit won’t play.
For more control, the Amazon Parent Dashboard lets you manage kids’ profiles, especially on Fire Tablets. Children get access to curated, age-appropriate music, with restricted content filtered out.
Alexa and Echo devices can also be managed through the dashboard. You can assign music services to a child’s profile, so what they hear stays within set limits.
On Fire Tablets, parental controls go further, letting you restrict music access and prevent accidental subscriptions. You can also turn off voice purchasing in the Alexa app to avoid unwanted charges.
On iOS and Android, controls are simpler, with the explicit content filter as the main option.
International Access
International access depends on where you are and where your account is based.
The service is available in 50+ countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and much of Europe and Latin America. Coverage is strong across North America, Western Europe, parts of South America, and Oceania, but it’s not offered everywhere.
Subscriptions are country-specific, so your account is tied to the region where you signed up. If you travel, you can still listen, but some content may be unavailable depending on local licensing. If you move permanently, you’ll need to update your account’s country or region settings and billing info to match your new location.
In places where the service is not supported, access may not work at all.
For the smoothest travel experience, download your music ahead of time so you can keep listening without interruptions.
