Music on SiriusXM is more like curated radio than a traditional playlist app. You can tune into channels hosted by DJs, artists, and music personalities who guide what you hear.

The lineup spans pop, rock, country, hip-hop, dance, jazz, classical, Christian, and Latin music. There are also decade stations like “70s on 7” and “90s on 9,” plus channels built around moods, road trips, parties, holiday music, and more.

Artist-driven channels are a big part of the service, including “Life With John Mayer,” “Carrie’s Country,” “LL Cool J’s Rock The Bells Radio,” “Pitbull’s Globalization,” and “Kelly Clarkson Connection.”

The SiriusXM app adds live performances, artist interviews, special music series, and Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora for a more tailored listening experience.

Original and exclusive content spans music, talk, comedy, and sports, available on satellite radio and through the SiriusXM app.

On the music side, there are artist-curated channels like “Shade 45” and “Green Day’s Idiot Nation,” along with original series such as “The List” and curated “Ultimate Music Mixes.” It also includes exclusive live performances and intimate concerts, featuring shows from Nashville’s The Pinnacle, including artists such as Morgan Wallen.

Talk and entertainment shows you won’t find elsewhere include “Radio Andy,” “Jeff Lewis Live,” “Comedy Gold,” and “The Megyn Kelly Channel.” There are even personality-driven programs hosted by Maya Rudolph, Gretchen Lieberum, Andy Beshear, and “Tinx Live.”

Sports and comedy bring more exclusives, with coverage on “SiriusXM NBA Radio,” “MLB Network Radio,” and “Pro Wrestling Nation,” plus stand-up-focused channels like “Sebastian Maniscalco’s Comedy Radio.”

The SiriusXM app features app-only originals and podcasts such as “Marvel’s Wastelanders” and Podcasts+, which offer early access and ad-free listening. There are more than 100 Xtra Channels, each built around a different mood or activity.

Channel lineups and exclusives can change over time.

You can use your SiriusXM account on multiple devices, but only one device can stream audio at a time. If you start playing something on a second device, it will usually pause the first stream.

The main exception is in the car, where satellite radio can often be used alongside streaming on the app.

Up to five personalized listener profiles can be created on a single streaming account, giving each household member their own space. Each profile maintains separate favorites, listening history, and recommendations inside the app and on 360L-equipped vehicles.

Even with multiple profiles, most standard subscriptions only support one active stream at a time.

Offline listening is available through the mobile app, letting you download select On Demand shows and podcasts for later listening without WiFi or service. Music-only episodes and live radio channels cannot be downloaded.

To save content, open an On Demand show or podcast in the iOS or Android app and tap the download icon. Your downloads are stored in the Library > Downloads section.

Offline downloads are not available on the desktop web player or TV apps. You also need an internet connection to complete the initial download. Saved content is playable offline for up to 14 days and automatically removed after 30 days offline.

A wide selection of podcasts are available through the app and website, covering comedy, talk, interviews, and SiriusXM Originals. Many episodes are available on-demand alongside music and live content.

A premium add-on called Podcasts+ includes ad-free listening and early access to popular shows like “SmartLess,” “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” and “Call Her Daddy.” It is priced at $5.99 per month or $44.99 per year, and is also available through platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

Original podcast programming includes titles like “The Bonfire” and “Jeff Lewis Has Issues,” which are integrated directly into the app for subscribers.

The audiobook collection on SiriusXM comes through a partnership with Audible and includes excerpts, author features, and special programming tied to major releases. It highlights selected moments from popular audiobooks rather than full-length titles.

Content spans genres like fiction, nonfiction, business, and wellness, with rotating selections that spotlight bestselling and newly released books. These segments often include commentary from authors about their work and creative process.

Programming such as “Chapter and Verse” blends storytelling with interviews, where bestselling authors discuss their musical influences and how those influences connect to their writing.

Parental controls are handled on the device or platform being used, not through a single SiriusXM setting.

Many satellite radios include built-in options to block or lock channels using a 4-digit PIN. Channels can then only be accessed after entering the code.

On TV-based apps or connected platforms, restrictions are managed through those systems’ own parental control settings. Some subscription options also remove explicit “XL” channels for a more family-friendly setup
