The Bob Ross Channel Launches on STIRR With Approximately 380 Episodes of ‘The Joy of Painting’

The Bob Ross Channel has launched on yet another platform. As of today, the channel will be available on Sinclair Group’s free, ad-supported OTT streaming service, STIRR. The channel comes loaded with approximately 380 classic episodes of content suitable for the whole family.

“We are thrilled to bring the iconic Bob Ross to even more fans through this partnership with Stirr,” said Erick Opeka, Cinedigm’s president of digital networks. “Through our partnership with the Bob Ross company, we aim to leverage our broad reach and expertise within the OTT space to extend the legacy created by Bob Ross.”

The Bob Ross Channel will feature episodes of the painter’s beloved Emmy-winning series “The Joy of Painting.” Each episode — a half-hour painting tutorial of varying landscapes — aired on PBS stations from 1983 to 1994.

As part of their partnership with Bob Ross, Inc., Cinedigm —an entertainment company that secured exclusive rights for the art channel — will also produce and distribute special messages of support for public television on the channel, the company said in a statement. The channel will also highlight official Bob Ross painting products and Bob Ross Certified Instructors.

Back in April, the Bob Ross Channel became available on Samsung connected TVs and launched on Roku in May.

Though he passed away 25 years ago, Ross still maintains a strong fan base, with his YouTube channel garnering over 330 million views to date while his social media boasts over 5.5 million followers.
