Chick-Fil-A Gives New Details About Upcoming Streamer Launch
The new streaming service is due to launch in November.
Chick-fil-A is ready to spread its (chicken) wings a bit. The fast food chicken restaurant is hard at work crafting a new streaming service which it is calling “Chick-fil-A Play,” and it’s making its way to customers before long. On Monday, the restaurant chain revealed more in-depth details about the new streaming service, including a launch date and what customers can expect to find on the service initially.
Key Details:
- Chick-fil-A Play is intended to be a family-oriented streamer that promotes time together.
- The platform has commissioned several original shows already, with more on the way.
- The new streamer launches on Nov. 18, but the price has not yet been announced.
No price has yet been announced for Chick-fil-A Play, but customers excited to sign up for the service won’t have to wait much longer for an answer on that front. The streamer will launch on Nov. 18, so the wait for it to arrive is nearly over.
The vision for Chick-fil-A Play is to craft a family-friendly streaming service that is intended to bring all members of a household together. That goal comes as no surprise to those who are familiar with the restaurant chain, which has generated controversy over its support of anti-LGBTQ+ Christian advocacy groups in the past.
“Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our Restaurants and play areas, or through our Kids Meals,” Chick-fil-A executive director of brand strategy Dustin Britt said “The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining play for our guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.”
The streamer will launch with an array of original content, including animated shows including “Chick-fil-A Cows” and “Evergreen Hills.” More originals are on the way; Deadline reports that the streamer has ordered a 10-part game show, and is working with other production companies to build out its content library next year.
It won’t just be TV shows available on Chick-fil-A Play either; the streamer will incorporate scripted podcasts like “Hidden Island,” offer interactive stories, and even carry cooking shows that might help viewers recreate their favorite Chick-fil-A recipes themselves — though that particular detail hasn’t been confirmed.
