D23 Streaming Roundup: News From Marvel, Star Wars, ‘Avatar,’ Pixar, More
All of Disney’s biggest franchises were on display at its annual fan event over the weekend.
Did you make it out to California for the D23 fan expo this weekend? You can be forgiven if the answer is “no,” but fortunately we at The Streamable are here to keep Disney fans apprised of all the biggest updates on their favorite upcoming shows and movies from the event. There was plenty of news generated at D23, including first looks at live-action adaptations like “Lilo & Stitch” and “Mufasa: The Lion King,” updates for new Marvel and Star Wars shows and movies coming to Disney+, and much more. New ‘Agatha All Along’ Trailer
Katherine Hahn returns to reprise her character from “WandaVision,” but as a witch with no powers, she’ll face a harrowing journey to restore herself to the being she once was.

Agatha All Along
Agatha Harkness gathers a coven of witches and sets off down, down, down The Witches’ Road.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Coming March 2025
Disney did not officially release the trailer they showed at D23 for “Daredevil: Born Again,” but word from fans who were in the room say it was incredible. The show will continue the characters first shown in the Netflix “Daredevil” series, including Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), as well as Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye. The show will be officially released on Disney+ in March 2025.
Marvel’s Daredevil
Lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock uses his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil.
‘Ironheart’ Confirmed for 2025
As-yet unreleased footage from ‘Ironheart’ shows Riri Williams (first introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”) working to create her new suit of armor, and gives audiences their first peek at Parker Robbins/The Hood, the villain from the series. There weren’t many details available, but the show will begin streaming in 2025.
Zombies and Other Marvel Animated Titles
Several animated Marvel shows were teased at D23, including new seasons of “X-Men '97” and “What If…?” The presentation also introduced the upcoming show “Eyes of Wakanda,” as well as “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” both of which will be animated projects that will presumably debut on Disney+.

What Star Wars News Came Out of D23 2024?
‘Skeleton Crew’ Gets a Trailer and Release Date
The next live-action Star Wars title to hit Disney+ will be “Skeleton Crew,” which is a coming-of-age story set in the years after “Return of the Jedi.” The show will feature four kids who get lost on a wayward adventure and must find their way home. The series also stars Jude Law as the Force-sensitive character Jod Na Nawood. “Skeleton Crew” will come to Disney+ on Dec. 3, 2024.

‘Andor’ Season 2 First Look
Fans were treated to some behind-the-scenes footage from Season 2 of “Andor,” which is coming to Disney+ in 2025. That footage isn’t public as of now, but it reportedly featured fan-favorite characters introduced in “Rogue One” such as the occasionally-homicidal droid K-2SO and the ambitious Director Krennic.

‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Footage
Everyone’s favorite bounty hunter and his little green friend returned to D23, giving fans their first look at Din Djarin since Season 3 of “The Mandalorian.” The next time audiences see them won’t be in a new season of the show, but will instead be on the big screen. “The Mandalorian and Grogu” will head to theaters in 2026, but Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni fired up the crowd with their first tease of the film.

The Mandalorian
After the fall of the Galactic Empire, lawlessness has spread throughout the galaxy. A lone gunfighter makes his way through the outer reaches, earning his keep as a bounty hunter.
What Other Disney+ Exclusives Were Teased at D23 2024?
‘Percy Jackson’ Season 2 Begins Production
Fans of the “Percy Jackson” book series were thrilled when Season 1 of the Disney+ adaptation lived up to their expectations. There was no update on when Season 2 will arrive on the streamer, but there was a short behind-the-scenes reel showing that Season 2 of the series is in production now.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, and find out who he’s destined to be.
‘Frozen’ Musical Coming to Disney+
As part of a large celebration of Disney on Broadway, the company announced that the stage adaptation of “Frozen” was filmed earlier this year in London and will stream on Disney+ in 2025. The show’s longtime West End star Samantha Barks closed out a Disney on Broadway medley by singing “Let It Go” at D23.

‘David Blaine: Do Not Attempt’ First Look
Renowned magician David Blaine is searching for real magic by tracking down incredible people across the globe and learning their closely guarded secrets in order to push his craft to the next level. See him travel the world to learn heretofore unknown tricks and magical moments that he can use to continue dazzling audiences everywhere in his new series, made in partnership with National Geographic.

Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Debuts Dec. 6
Follow along with the Pickles as they prepare for a championship softball game of epic proportions. This animated series will be the first TV show Pixar has ever produced, and it debuts exclusively on Disney+ on Dec. 6. Will Forte lends his considerable talents to the show.

What Other Titles Were Teased at D23 2024?
There were plenty of other announcements at D23 this weekend, including films that won’t premiere on Disney+ right away, but will be theatrical exclusives when they’re first released. These include the live-action “Mufasa: The Lion King” — premiering on Dec. 20 — as well as the upcoming “Snow White,” which will bow in theaters next March. Fans were also shown a preview of the “Lilo & Stitch” adaptation, which comes to cinemas next summer. There was a lot more to see, as well, including announcements from beloved Pixar franchises!
