CBS All Access has a new “Star Trek” series onboard.

The streamer has order “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” based on Captain Christopher Pike’s tenure as leader of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

The cast includes Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock.

The show is set in the decade before Captain Kirk took command of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

“When we said we heard the fans’ outpouring of love for Pike, Number One and Spock when they boarded ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ last season, we meant it,” said Alex Kurtzman, who has executive produced the “Star Trek” franchise since 2009. He also co-wrote the scripts to “Transformers.”

“These iconic characters have a deep history in ‘Star Trek’ canon, yet so much of their stories have yet to be told,” he added.

The series premiere was written by Akiva Goldsman, with the story by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet will serve as executive producers.

“Fans fell in love with Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck’s portrayals of these iconic characters when they were first introduced on ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ last season,” said Julie McNamara, EVP, head of programming at CBS All Access. “This new series will be a perfect complement to the franchise, bringing a whole new perspective and series of adventures to ‘Star Trek.’”

“I have imagined myself on the bridge of the Enterprise since the early 1970s,” Goldsman admitted.

“Strange New Worlds” is the latest addition to the canon on the streamer, which airs season three of “Star Trek: Discovery” later this year.

An animated series “Star Trek: Lower Decks,” developed by Emmy winner Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty”), is also in the works for the streamer.
