With the Premier League coming back, Liverpool can continue with its march to the championship this season. Before the COVID-19 pandemic enforced lockdowns, the team was well on its way to glory with a 25-point lead ahead of Manchester City. While the gap between the two is wide, it doesn’t mean the former can just skate through their upcoming games. Manchester still has 10 games to play (for a maximum of 30 points) and should they keep winning, Liverpool would need to at least two wins to claim the title, ABC Australia reports.
As with other returning leagues, games will be played under strict guidelines as COVID-19 is still rampant. Games will be played with no spectators and “at home venues for the most part, with the venues for handful of games TBC due to UK government and police concerns,” NBC Sports stated.
