Ridley Scott Teams With Apple TV+, Netflix to Stream ‘Killer’ Docuseries

Fern Siegel

Apple TV+ has signed a first-look deal with director Ridley Scott (“Blade Runner,” “Thelma & Louise”).
His award-winning company Scott Free will create shows for the streamer.

Scott’s first TV directorial effort will be HBO Max’s “Raised by Wolves,” though his company has produced numerous TV serious, including “The Good Wife” and “Man in the High Castle.”

Scott made a name for himself directing the heralded “1984” Apple commercial and “Alien.”

David Zucker, Clayton Krueger and Jordan Sheehan, alongside Scott, will be executive producers on all works.

Apple TV+ has been attracting big names since its debut. It just signed Sofia Coppola, Alfonso Cuarón and “Dickinson” showrunner Alena Smith. Also on its roster are Steven Spielberg, Annie Weisman, Jason Katims, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lee Eisenberg and Sharon Horgan, among others.

Separately, Netflix and Sky, the British pay-TV service, have signed Znak & Co. (“Ultimate Tag”) for a true-crime docuseries. It is the story of Dale Wayne Sigler and his motive for a brutal murder that landed him in jail for decades, per Deadline.

The series first airs on Sky Crime, owned by Comcast, on June 28 as “A Killer Uncaged.” When it subsequently streams on Netflix, it will be branded “I Am a Killer.”

Shot on location in Texas, the series will follow Sigler after his release as he explains the circumstances behind his crime.
