Everything We Know About ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ on Disney+

Jude Law is headlining the series, but what else do we know about the newest live-action Star Wars series?

Are you ready to return to a galaxy far, far away? Disney+ is gearing up for its next trip back to the Star Wars universe with a new live-action series called “Skeleton Crew.” Early promotional material suggests the show will be mostly geared toward younger audiences, but anyone who has watched a Star Wars TV series from Disney+ in the past few years knows, that each one has a ton of connections to the larger narrative universe. We’ll include everything we know about the show in this handy guide, so you’ll be ready to stream it when it releases in December!

What Do We Know About ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ So Far?

What Is ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ About?

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” follows four children who can’t help looking up at the stars and dreaming about the galaxy around them. They make a fascinating discovery on their home world that leads them into space, but they soon realize they have no idea how to get home again.

Finding their way home with the aid of the mysterious “Jod” — and meeting unlikely allies and enemies — will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

When Does ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Come Out?

Skeleton Crew is the new live-action Star Wars series coming to Disney+

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” will be released on Disney+ starting Tuesday, Dec. 3. The first two episodes of the show will premiere on that date, followed by one per week after.

Who Are the Stars of ‘Skeleton Crew’?

Jude Law is the headlining star of Skeleton Crew.

Jude Law is the main adult actor in “Skelton Crew,” portraying a human named Jod whose true motivations are a mystery.

He’s joined by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost. The episodes are directed by Jon Watts, David Lowery, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.

Disney has trusted much of the planning for the future of the Star Wars universe to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, both of whom will serve as executive producers for the series.

How Does ‘Skeleton Crew’ Connect to Other Star Wars Shows?

Skeleton Crew will likely connect to other Star Wars titles, though how specificially remains a mystery.

Disney isn’t revealing much about “Skeleton Crew,” preferring to allow fans to see the pertinent details of the show for themselves. The presence of X-Wing fighters in the show’s promotional material suggests it will take place sometime after the fall of the Empire but before the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

That time period is when other live-action Star Wars shows like “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka” are set, so there’s a good possibility the show will connect to one or all of those titles in some way not yet revealed.

Will ‘Skeleton Crew’ Appear on Disney Cable Channels or Streamers?

It remains to be seen if any Skeleton Crew episodes will air outside Disney+

In the past, some Disney+ Star Wars series have chosen to show select episodes on Disney-owned linear channels like ABC, Freeform, and FX. There is no word yet on whether “Skeleton Crew” will do likewise, but if Disney decides to air episodes of the show on broadcast or cable channels, The Streamable will update this article.
