Fox Nation Will Soon Be Available to Bundle with Sling TV, DISH Satellite Subscription Plans

In the minds of many consumers, pay-TV distributors that allow viewers to bundle streaming services with their traditional TV plans are providing increasingly rare value to their subscribers in today’s media landscape. Now, you can add another pair of streaming services that are coming together to offer a linear and on-demand bundle. On Tuesday, Fox Nation announced that it will soon be available to bundle with both DISH Network and its live TV streaming subsidiary Sling TV, helping customers of those pay-TV services to find more of the content they want and consolidate their entertainment bills all at the same time.

Fox Nation president Lauren Petterson announced that DISH and Sling TV customers will be able to add Fox Nation to their subscriptions starting in mid-March, indicating that the rollout is just days away. Once that process is complete, DISH and Sling TV subscribers can tack on a Fox Nation subscription to their existing bill for an extra $5.99 per month, allowing them to keep two video services on the same monthly invoice. Once Fox Nation comes to DISH, users will find it on channel 296, in the On Demand menu, and the DISH Anywhere app.

“We’re thrilled to partner with DISH and Sling to make our on-demand content more readily available to viewers who crave Fox Nation,” Petterson said in announcing the new agreement between her streamer and DISH.

The move is a wise one on DISH’s part, as it will allow the company to give its subscribers exactly what they’re asking for: Fewer entertainment bills. A recent survey conducted by Bango indicates that 73% of viewers want a single platform that tracks and manages their subscriptions, allowing them to pay for their monthly video expenses on a single bill.

What Does New Agreement Mean for the Future of Fox Nation, DISH, Sling TV?

For Fox Nation, the new distribution pact with DISH and Sling means that it could grow its subscriber base past the 2 million customers it currently has. Viewers might decide that the added convenience of being able to add Fox Nation to their current accounts makes it too good of an opportunity to turn down, especially since both DISH’s satellite plans and Sling’s Blue plan carry the Fox News channel, the cable news sibling of the conservative lifestyle and entertainment platform.

That means that DISH and Sling customers can soon watch live news and election coverage on Fox News, then flip to Fox Nation to enjoy the streamer’s lifestyle titles like Kevin Costner’s “Yellowstone: One-Fifty” about the 150th anniversary of America’s most iconic national park, “Liberty or Death: The Boston Tea Party” hosted by Rob Lowe, and many more.

It’s hard to know if the move will be a significant needle-mover for DISH and Sling TV, however. The two services are owned by Echostar, which recently filed a paper with the Securities and Exchange Commission that raised concerns about its long-term survival as a company. Sling TV recently expanded an awards program launched in early 2024 aimed at keeping subscribers engaged with the service. The company is likely hoping that increasing the number of bundles that it offers will keep customers more engaged with DISH and Sling, reducing the numbers of customers who unsubscribe from their services.

DISH and Sling customers should keep an eye on the user interface of their chosen service. Within the next few days, these viewers will be able to add a subscription to Fox Nation to their pay-TV plan, consolidating their bills and allowing them to access more content using fewer apps.
