Got a smart TV for the holidays? Here’s how to add streamers!

Harness the power of your new smart TV by streaming all your favorite TV shows and movies on the biggest screen in the house.

Most smart TV interfaces make it easy to add new streaming apps to your collection.

If you were lucky enough to score a new smart TV for Christmas or the holidays this year, you’re ready to start streaming like never before! Smart TVs allow you to click to your favorite streamer with ease, but if this is your first internet-connected set, you may not know how to get all the streaming services you want onto your TV. We’ll give you step-by-step instructions so it’s a snap to get new streamers on your smart TV as often as you want!

How to add streaming services to a new smart TV

Connect to the internet

This may sound like an obvious step, but it’s absolutely crucial to making the most out of your new smart TV. Connecting to the internet will let you download all the streaming apps your TV will support, to say nothing of actually watching the content available on those apps. Most smart TVs have you connect to your home Wi-Fi during the setup process, so by the time you’re ready to watch, this step will likely be taken care of.

Make sure your subscriptions are current

Once you’ve got your favorite streaming apps downloaded, you’ll be ready to watch! Just keep in mind, however, that you will have to have subscriptions to watch these streamers; simply downloading the apps onto your new smart TV won’t be enough to grant you access! Most streaming services have plans available for $10 per month or less, as long as you’re willing to put up with ads.
