It all comes down to this. There are just eight teams left in the chase for the 2024 NCAA women’s softball national championship and they are all on hand in Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series, which gets underway on Thursday, May 30 at 12 noon ET. The No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners will look to secure their fourth-straight title, despite the fact that their bitter rivals the Texas Longhorns are the No. 1 overall seed. The ESPN family of networks will broadcast all of the action from the event with games appearing on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC. Additionally, ESPN+ will also offer simulcasts of every contest in OKC. About 2024 NCAA Softball Women's College World Series

The Alabama Crimson Tide advanced to the WCWS following a dramatic, extra-innings victory in the decisive third game of the Super Regionals over No. 3 Tennessee last weekend. The victory made ‘Bama the lowest-ranked team in the World Series field and set them up as the visitors in the first contest on the schedule. They will open the action on Thursday against one of the most storied programs in softball history, the No. 6 UCLA Bruins.

Following that matchup, the Sooners, coached by the legendary Patty Gasso will take on No. 10 Duke. Then after the dinner break, the top-ranked Longhorns will get into action against No. 8 Stanford. While OU has been a dominant force in Oklahoma City in recent years, they are not the only Oklahoma-based team in the field this season. The No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowgirls will face the No. 4 Florida Gators in the opening day’s nightcap.

The rest of the matchups in the tournament will be determined by who wins on Day 1. The tournament will consist of a five-day double-elimination bracket that will produce two teams that will advance to the best-of-three championship series.

Throughout the week of action, ESPN’s top commentating team will be stacked with legends Beth Mowins, Michele Smith, Jessica Mendoza, and Holly Rowe. Supplementing that coverage will be Kevin Brown, Amanda Scarborough, and Alyssa Lang. In between games, Pam Ward, Madison Shipman, and Danielle Lawrie will provide highlights and insights from the studio.
