About ‘The Boy and the Heron’
“The Boy and the Heron” follows the tale of Mahito, a boy who tragically loses his mother in a hospital fire. He relocates to the country estate of his family, and the magic surrounding the place soon becomes apparent. When he finds a hidden and clearly ancient tower that serves as home to a gray heron, Mahito follows the bird into a world where the living and the dead exist side-by-side.
He soon begins an epic journey guided by the mysterious heron, learning more about the fantastical world around him, and getting a chance to look deep inside himself. The English dub of the movie stars Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Mark Hamill, Robert Pattinson, and Florence Pugh.
