This time, he is facing the fourth-ranked contender and former interim champion Dustin Poirier (30-8) in the UFC 302 main event. Makhachev is hoping to extend the UFC’s longest active win streak while Poirier is looking to secure his first undisputed UFC title.
The No. 1 ranked middleweight Sean Strickland (28-6) will face off against No. 7 Paulo Costa (14-3) in the co-main event as both fighters are looking to position themselves for title shots.
