Is ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Streaming Now? When Can You Watch at Home?
The newest ‘Venom’ movie will be the last in the antihero’s saga, according to Sony.
The sassy and insatiable symbiote named Venom is coming back to the big screen one last time. The third and final installment in the Spider-Man-tangential trilogy “Venom: The Last Dance” comes to theaters officially on Friday, Oct. 25, and as usual, we’ll give our prediction as to when you’ll be able to stream it here!
Key Details:
- As per usual, audiences are enjoying “Venom: The Last Dance” much more than critics.
- The film is being distributed by Sony, whose licensing deals mean it will stream on Netflix before heading to a Disney streamer like Hulu.
- Fans will likely have to wait a while before the movie is ready for Netflix.
Watch the Trailer for ‘Venom: The Last Dance’:
“Venom: The Last Dance” sees Eddie and Venom head for New York City in an effort to clear their names after the murder of Patrick Mulligan. Along the way, they’ll have to tangle with the strongest symbiote opponent they’ve met yet, and there’s no guarantee they’ll survive, no matter how many people Venom eats along the way to stay in shape.
As is the case with the other films in the “Venom” saga, the movie is more popular with audiences than it is with reviewers. “Venom: The Last Dance” sports a critical score of 33% on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences who have attended preview screenings have scored it at 77% thus far.
When Will “Venom: The Last Dance” Arrive on Netflix?
“Venom: The Last Dance” is being distributed by Sony in the United States, which means that it could be a while before it arrives on Netflix. Sony doesn’t have an on-demand streamer of its own, and licenses streaming rights for its films to Netflix for an 18-month exclusive window before they shift to a Disney-owned service.
Sony usually gives its movies a long runway in theaters, so they can pull in as much in box office receipts as possible. As of the time of this writing, the recent, controversial Sony film “It Ends With Us” was released 77 days ago and does not have a Netflix release date yet. Other Sony films set in the Spider-Man universe like “Madame Web” and “Morbius” got as bad or worse reviews than “Venom: The Last Dance,” but still took 90 and 159 days to reach Netflix, respectively.
I think the new “Venom” movie will take 119 days to hit Netflix, arriving there on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025. Think of it as a late Valentine’s Day gift for the Venom fan in your life. Should that window prove accurate, the movie would hit Disney streamers sometime in September 2026. The film has more of a Hulu vibe, but of course, most titles that stream on Hulu are also available on Disney+ for customers who have both services.
