This is Why You Can’t DVR ESPN, Disney Channel, & ABC on fuboTV
With the excitement of fuboTV adding Disney-owned channels like ESPN, streamers were surprised that they couldn’t DVR these channels.
For instance, Sling TV used to not allow DVR recordings on these same channels. While the restrictions have since been lifted, some streamers were concerned that recordings of fuboTV on these channels would be limited.
Fortunately, we’ve learned that this is not the case.
fuboTV has confirmed to The Streamable that it’s not a contractual issue, they have the rights to allow DVR recordings on these channels. In order to get them on the Live TV Streaming Service as soon as possible, they launched them without DVR support.
So when is DVR support coming? The company tells us that they plan to add DVR support for the channels next week. So don’t fret, you’ll soon be able to record “Sportscenter”, “The Bachelor”, and your favorite NBA, MLB, and NFL games.
At launch, ABC will be available live in Disney-owned-and-operated markets including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham, and Fresno.
Similar to a regional sports network, ACC Network e SEC Network will be available for customers in their local market. Those who want it outside of those markets will need to add Fubo Extra ($5.99) or Sports Plus ($10.99).
Starting at $59.99 for fuboTV Standard, the service includes 30 of the Top 35 cable channels, a 30 Hour DVR, and two simultaneous streams. You can upgrade to the Family Bundle for $5 more, which includes a 500 Hour DVR and a third stream.
