Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “We Are Freestyle Love Supreme,” is finally making its way to Hulu after having been postponed mere days before it was originally planned to debut. In June, Miranda held the documentary back in an effort to be in solidarity with the nationwide protests against racial injustices that were going on at the time. A little over a month later, the film makes its bow on the streamer today.

The documentary comes two weeks after “Hamilton’s” blockbuster premiere on Disney+. It showcases Freestyle Love Supreme — the performance group comprised of Miranda and his friends/longtime collaborators — long before their “In the Heights” and “Hamilton” fame. The film follows the group as they put together “We Are Freestyle Love Supreme,” an off-Broadway show they used to put up before they made their way to the main stages of Broadway.
The film was directed by Andrew Fried and features all the faces behind “Hamilton” that audiences have grown to love—Christopher Jackson, who played George Washington in the renowned play, Anthony Veneziale, Arthur Lewis, Chris Sullivan as well as theater director Thomas Kail.
