Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, the holiday season rolls on with Christmas ahead. One of the major traditions to commemorate the Christian holiday is the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center Plaza in New York City. The annual tradition takes place this Wednesday, Dec. 4 with Mario Lopez, Stefan Holt and Natalie Pasquarella helming the pre-show.

“Today” anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin will then lead the ceremony from 8 to 10 p.m. Performances from John Legend, Idina Menzel, Gwen Stefani and NE-YO (among others) will take place.
The tree’s lights will be illuminated every day from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. through January 6 and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 7, 2020. On Christmas Day, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be lit for a full 24 hours.
