Tom Hiddleston (“Avengers,” “Thor”) is set to star in Netflix’s political thriller “White Stork.” The 10-episode series posits “the paradox of truth in a post-truth world.”
In the upcoming British series, Hiddleston plays James Cooper, a man running for a seat in Parliament. But if terrible secrets from his past surface, they could destroy his career and marriage.
Christopher Dunlop (“Deep State,” “Jericho”) is the creator-writer-executive producer of the series, which comes from Eleven, the company responsible for Netflix’s “Sex Education” series starring Gillian Anderson.
Kristoffer Nyholm (“Taboo,” “The Enfield Haunting”) will direct “White Stork.”
The versatile Hiddleston, who appeared on Broadway last year in “Betrayal,” is also set to star in Disney+ and Marvel Studios’ upcoming 2021 “Loki” series with Owen Wilson. Hiddleston reprises the role of Loki, but as the “Avengers: Endgame” alternative version of the God of Mischief.
The series will connect to the upcoming film “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” scheduled for a May 2021 release.
