Learn Something New: Curiosity University Launches on Prime Video

Audiences can watch lectures from some of the world’s most respected professors on the new streaming service.

The fine folks at Curiosity Stream are constantly thinking of new ways to deliver high-quality educational content to audiences. Those efforts took another step forward on Thursday, when Curiosity Inc. announced that it was partnering with Prime Video as a new distribution partner for the “Curiosity University” streaming platform, which will offer viewers a stunning combination of academic rigor and compelling storytelling.

Key Details:

  • Curiosity University will offer lectures, documentaries and more on a wide range of topics.
  • The streamer will cost $8.95 per month through the Prime Video Channels digital store.
  • Shoppers can also find Curiosity University on Xfinity and Xumo platforms.
Curiosity University is brought to life by the same company that introduced Curiosity Stream.

Curiosity University is now available for subscription through the Prime Video Channels digital store, which is accessible for Prime Video customers. The streamer costs $8.95 per month and comes with a seven-day free trial to allow new viewers to give it a thorough once-over before committing their money.

While Curiosity Stream is more focused on documentary shows and movies, Curiosity University helps viewers return to the classroom with lectures from some of the most esteemed professors in the world. Explore topics such as history, arts, culture, science, well-being, and more with Pulitzer Prize-winning authors and department chairs from some of the most well-known universities around the globe.

“By integrating with Prime Video as an add-on subscription, Curiosity University has access to sophisticated streaming technology and Prime Video’s user-friendly interface,” said Jay Sodha, Curiosity’s VP of Business Development and Partnerships. “Curiosity U subscribers will benefit from a seamless viewing experience, easily accessible content, and personalized recommendations, which aligns with our mission to put entertaining and enlightening content within everyone’s reach.”

Titles available on Curiosity University for subscribers who sign up through Prime Video now include “The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: Four Surprising New Discoveries”, “Our Future in Space: Billionaires, Rockets and Gravity,” “6 Television Shows That Changed the Rules,” and “Kennedy, Nixon and the Debate of the Century,” showing the breadth of the content available on the service.

Curiosity Stream goes to great lengths to ensure that it refreshes content frequently, giving viewers access to new and timely documentaries. It’s likely the company will make a similar effort to continue refreshing the content library of Curiosity University.

If you’re not a Prime Video subscriber already, you can try the streamer free for 30 days with a free trial of Amazon Prime. Otherwise, Curiosity University can be found on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Xumo from Xfinity, Cox Communications’ Contour TV, Xumo TV, and the Xumo Streambox.
