ESPN announced a new pre-game show that will air live on Twitter before every NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC matchup. The 30-minute NBA pre-game show called Hoop Streams will be live with hosts Cassidy Hubbarth, Treavor Scales, and Stephen Jackson.
The first stream will be live at 7:30pm ET from Oracle Arena this Saturday before Houston Rockets and reigning MVP James Harden go head to head with the reigning NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. The pre-game shows will continue throughout the NBA Playoffs, NBA Conference Finals, and NBA Final.
This isn’t the first time ESPN has collaborated with Twitter on live content. During College Football season, ESPN aired a Twitter-Powered Camera during ESPN College GameDay. The live stream showed behind-the-scenes action during the telecast.
Twitter has also been working with the NBA to give fans access to a single-player view during the second half of games. The first broadcast aired during the NBA All-Star Game on February 17th, with future streams throughout the regular season and playoffs. Fans will have the opportunity to vote on who will be featured during the live streams.
