MLB.TV Now Available for the 2024 Season - See the New Features

Pitchers and catchers have reported to spring training, which means you can sign up for the MLB’s out-of-market games streamer now!

Though much of the country is locked in winter weather at the moment, spring is just weeks away. That means the MLB season is also very close, and with pitchers and catchers already having reported to spring training, the league’s out-of-market games platform MLB.TV is available now for the 2024 season. The service has some brand-new features for fans to enjoy while watching games this season, including expanded multiview, a new Catchup Mode, and more.

  • MLB.TV is expanding its multiview capabilities to viewers on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Google TV devices.
  • New episodes of original MLB.TV programs are also headed to the platform this year.
  • MLB.TV costs $149.99 per season for fans to stream all teams, or $129.99 for a single-team plan.

What’s New on MLB.TV This Year?

Fans will most enjoy expanded access to MLB.TV’s multiview option this year. The multiview feature allows audiences to watch up to four MLB games simultaneously, and this year that ability will become available to millions of new customers, as it will spread to Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Google TV devices, putting an end to frustrations of MLB.TV subscribers who have found multiview was not supported on their smart TV or streaming dongle until now.

MLB.TV is also introducing a “Catchup Mode,” which will allow fans who join the stream of a game late to view a customized highlight reel that lets them see the biggest plays and moments from the game thus far. It’s a great way to find out what the viewer has missed quickly, without taking up so much time that they miss more big plays live.

Finally, MLB.TV will expand its on-demand catalog with new episodes of original shows like “Carded” and “Inside Stitch,” which take fans behind-the-scenes with their favorite teams and players to learn what it’s really like to play in the majors. That’s in addition to the wide range of highlights and analysis available via MLB.TV’s shoulder programming.

What Does an MLB.TV Subscription Get You?

An MLB.TV subscription allows you to watch any out-of-market MLB games not appearing on nationally-broadcast channels like Fox or ESPN. If you live across the country from your favorite MLB team, MLB.TV will allow you to watch dozens or hundreds of its games every year, complete with the features and bonuses that come with the platform.

Fans can subscribe to watch MLB.TV and stream every out-of-market game from all teams during the year for $29.99 per month or $149.99 per season. Those who are only interested in one particular team can subscribe to a single-team plan for $129.99 per year, which is a great way to avoid paying extra for games you’re not planning on watching.

MLB does not have an in-market streaming service of its own yet, but commissioner Rob Manfred hopes to have such a platform ready for launch by the 2025 season. For out-of-market fans, an established and highly adaptable streamer is already available: MLB.TV, which comes with new features for the 2024 season and is (buy-link: mlb-tv text: available now.

MLB.TV

MLB.TV is the official streaming service of Major League Baseball. You can see every out-of-market game live or on demand, and choose home or away TV and radio feeds. The app allows fans to watch up to four games simultaneously on the same screen through their Multi-view feature. MLB.TV can be added to your Sling TV or Prime Video subscription.

Users can choose to follow the entire league for “All Teams” ($149.99) plan, which is also available for “All Teams” ($29.99) a month, or you can stream one team’s out-of-market games for “Single Team” ($129.99).

One major caveat about the service: Your local games may be blacked out through MLB.TV, so you may still need to watch through your local provider.

If you’d like to go beyond the games, MLB.TV provides features, documentaries, and classic games.
