19 Stations Return to DIRECTV, AT&T TV NOW, & AT&T U-Verse After Reaching Deals with Northwest Broadcasting & GoCom Media

Earlier this year, AT&T had hit a standstill with local broadcasters, which saw channels from Northwest Broadcasting, Deerfield Media, Roberts Media, Second Generation of Iowa, GoCom Media, MPS Media, Howard Stirk Holding, and Waitt Broadcasting disappear from their pay-TV services.

After nearly an 8 month blackout though, AT&T has reached deals with two of those — Northwest Broadcasting and GoCom Media which will see 19 local affiliates return to the service across 11 markets. While all of the affiliates were lost from DirecTV, only a subset of the channels were affected on DIRECTV NOW because many of them were not yet carried by the streaming service.

This is the latest deal that AT&T has inked since CBS nationally was dropped in major markets on DirecTV and nationally on DIRECTV NOW (now known as AT&T TV NOW). Prior to that, Nexstar, the largest local affiliate owner, had their channels dropped DirecTV, DIRECTV NOW, and AT&T U-Verse. While both sides ultimately came to a deal, the disputes lasted multiple weeks leaving customers without locals.
