Apple TV+’s Top 5 Most Anticipated Shows and Movies of 2024; ‘Masters of the Air,’ ‘Palm Royale,’ ‘Wolfs,’ More

World War II dramas and historical comedies headline The Streamable’s most-anticipated titles bowing on Apple TV+ this year!

The new year is here! Apple TV+ brought fantastic titles like “Shrinking,” the final season of the beloved “Ted Lasso,” new seasons of “Slow Horses” and “Foundation” and a wide array of high-quality shows and movies led by big-name stars.

But what’s coming to Apple TV+ in 2024 for users to get excited about? “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Napoleon” are hitting the streamer sometime this year, but there are some other excellent-sounding series and movies headed to Apple TV+ at various points this year. Check out The Streamable’s most anticipated titles below!

Masters of the Air’ | Premieres Friday, Jan. 26

It’s been a while since Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg teamed up for a World War II project. But the pair, who have worked together on “Saving Private Ryan,” “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” have a well-earned reputation for turning out quality when they do share a project are back for this new series.

Starring Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Barry Keoghan, Ncuti Gatwa, and a large ensemble cast, this series follows the men of the famous 8th Air Force’s 100th Bomb Group, which undertook the responsibility of making highly dangerous daylight bombing raids over the heart of Germany in World War II. Hanks and Spielberg both serve as executive producers for the series, so fans of their previous work can expect a return to the same quality of title they’ve always released.

Manhunt’ | Premieres Friday, March 15

The assassination of Abraham Lincoln was one of the true flashpoints in American history. There’s truly no way to know what the United States might look like if his plans for Reconstruction after the Civil War had been carried out, but his life was cut short by a bullet from the gun of John Wilkes Booth, and his soul was commended to the ages.

“Manhunt” will follow the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination, as his secretary of war Edwin M. Stanton obsesses over finding Booth and rooting out what he sees as a Confederate conspiracy. Part historical fiction, part thriller, this series will show Stanton’s increasing desperation to root out the conspiracy, a fight that eventually takes him to the brink of madness.

Palm Royale’ | Premieres March 20, 2024

Based on the novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie” by Juliet McDaniel, this period comedy will star Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Leslie Bibb, and Ricky Martin.

“Palm Royale” follows the story of a woman who is desperate to make her way into the high society of Palm Beach. Whilst climbing the social ladder, she is afforded several opportunities to decide what she will or won’t do to make it all the way to the top. The cast of this series alone should guarantee its hilarity, but the popularity of the novel it’s based on also lends to the idea that this could be one of the funniest shows of the year.

Project Artemis’ | Premieres in Theaters July 12, Estimated Streaming Date Nov. 9

There are few details about this movie available as of yet, but the information released is tantalizing indeed. “Project Artemis” will be a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969, and it features a star-studded cast of Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Ray Romano, Woody Harrelson and Jim Rash.

The movie will be exclusively released in theaters on July 12, but its distribution by Apple Original Films ensures it will stream on Apple TV+ when it leaves cinemas. It’s hard to say for sure when that will be, but given Apple’s willingness to leave its titles in theaters and on transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) platforms for an extended stay (as evidenced by “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Napoleon”), The Streamable doesn’t expect the movie to premiere on Apple TV+ sooner than 120 days after its release.

‘Wolfs’ | Premieres in Theaters Sept. 20, Estimated Streaming Date Christmas 2024

More information will surely become available about this movie as its release nears, but the teaming of George Clooney and Brad Pitt on screen is always a recipe for quality. This movie will see Clooney and Pitt playing two fixers, lone wolves who by a quirk of fate find themselves assigned to the same job.

The movie is being billed as a thriller, but the premise and the stars make it at least possible there will be a comedic element included as well. The Christmas release date on Apple TV+ would break the 120-day rule established above for “Project Artemis,” but there’s always a chance Apple decides to move the film to streaming a bit earlier than normal because of the holidays.
