Conservative Outlet Daily Wire Launches New Kid-Focused Streaming App Called Bentkey

The service won’t feature much in the way of politics, but offers shows that will teach kids “values” they can build on later in life.

The proliferation of subscription streaming services isn’t limited to platforms intended just for adults. New kids streaming services are popping up everywhere, and according to Axios the right-wing news outlet Daily Wire is launching a new streaming platform dedicated to kids programming of its own.

  • The Daily Wire’s new streaming service is called Bentkey.
  • Subscriptions cost $99 per year.
  • Customers of DailyWire+ get automatic access to the new streamer.

Don’t Say Disney

The new Bentkey streaming app is intended to give parents upset with Disney’s inclusive policies surrounding the LGBTQ+ community an alternative to Disney+. Its programming includes shows like “Chip Chilla,” a series about a homeschooled family of chinchillas that many will find reminiscent of “Bluey.” A total of 18 shows are available at launch, with 150 individual episodes.

Despite the Daily Wire’s reputation for provocative programming, there won’t be any kind of emphasis on politics for Bentkey viewers. Instead, the platform will offer series that are “about values and all of the things on which politics are built later,” says former Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing.

Bentkey subscriptions do not yet have a monthly option but are available for $99 per year. Customers of the DailyWire+ streaming platform geared toward adults will get access to Bentkey at no additional charge. There is no free trial, but the Bentkey app is available in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store now.

What Other Kids Streaming Platforms Are Available?

If you’re searching for a kid’s streaming platform that doesn’t come with the political baggage of a streamer operated by the Daily Wire team, there are many to choose from. As mentioned above, Disney+ is a great one, but services like Noggin, the PBS Kids app, and Da Vinci all offer top-quality education and entertainment, and there’s something out there for every budget.
