Disney to Release TV Series Based on Monsters, Inc. on Disney+ in 2020

The rumors are true. Disney confirmed today that they will be releasing a TV series based on the Pixar film, Monsters, Inc. The series which will take place 6 months after the original film, will see Billy Crystal and John Goodman, return in their original roles of Mike and Sulley.

Other characters from Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University like Yeti (John Ratzenberger), Celia Mae (Jennifer Tilly), Roze & Roz (Bob Peterson) are all expecting to return.

Disney’s OTT service is expected to launch later this year, with original movies and shows including a $100 million, 10 episodes live-action Star Wars TV series from Iron Man director John Favreau. They have already announced television series based on Monsters Inc., High School Musical, and a Thor spin-off called Loki.

They will also be making films exclusively available for the service like live action remakes of Lady and the Tramp and The Sword in the Stone, the Anna Kendrick Christmas comedy Noelle, and Timmy Failure, based on the best-selling books.
