Yesterday, YouTube TV announced that they have rolled out eight Discovery networks to their Live TV Streaming Service. Coming with the new channels though, subscribers would see the service increase their monthly plan to $50 a month.
Last March, YouTube TV increased their pricing from $35 to $40 a month, but grandfathered existing users at the original $35 a month subscription. Unfortunately, those subscribers won’t see the same benefit this time around. We’ve confirmed with YouTube TV that all existing subscribers, even those currently on the $35 a month plan “will see these changes reflected in their subsequent billing cycle after May 13.”
For those who signed up for the service at launch, that means a $15 a month or 42% increase on your plan. While the price hike comes with the addition of Discovery, many of those subscribers already got those, plus Viacom, and A&E from Philo for just $16 a month.
