Later this month, four teams will take to the turf at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in the semifinals of the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship. But to get there, they will have to battle through multiple opponents beginning this week.
In what could colloquially be called the “play-in game,” the University of Albany and Sacred Heart will face off on Wednesday, May 8 with the winner earning a spot in the field of 16. The first-round games will air this weekend with four matchups airing on ESPNU on Saturday, with the other four coming on [Sunday]. The first day will be highlighted by the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils who will take on the Utah Utes at 2:30 p.m. ET. from Koskinen Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
Then on Sunday, the top-ranked Irish will host either the Great Danes or Pioneers at 5 p.m. ET at Arlotta Stadium. When and where you can stream the quarterfinals on May 18 and 19 is still to be determined, but the semifinals will air on ESPN2 on Saturday, May 25 from The Linc. Then, the national champion will be crowned on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
